I want it too, but is it going to cost like $100? I think they usually cost about $30-$40. The books of the actual charts are about $100 for a decade.

It's going to cost $60. You can see a sample of the book here. www.recordresearch.com/rb.htmlIt has weekly charts as well as a story on the history of each #1.

I don't think it includes weekly charts. I have the most recent country book published two years ago and they usually just have bio/chart history for every artist. They're a great investment, I'll probably get this one too.

Yeah that's what my Adult Contemporary book in the series has. Oh nevermind. I just looked at the little thumbnail but if you look at this full sample page, it shows that it's a full page dedicated to Marvin Gaye. www.recordresearch.com/Gaye.pdfI don't really understand this.

I was really looking for a chronological list like my adult contemporary book has. This looks like it's listed by artist.

I was really looking for a chronological list like my adult contemporary book has. This looks like it's listed by artist. It is listed by artist, but the back of the book indexes everything by song title. And there are listings for #1 hits by each year.

I know the last one they put out was in like 1990. You mean 1999, of course. ;) Unless you're talking about the "Billboard Book of #1 R&B Hits" (which is similar to Fred Bronson's book for pop). I'm guessing that one didn't sell enough to justify an update. :(

I'm excited about this book, although not the fact that I'm gonna drop a day's pay on it lol. It's nice though, basically every artist to ever chart on the R&B chart! And it tells you how long each song was at it's peak, and it looks like they also have the artists ranked, too. Lots and lots of helpful information.
I know all of us who get it will be pulling it out constantly for the Nostalgia forum and stuff, lol.

Their site is nice, but it's not comprehensive. yeah, sometimes they leave out singles and do other stupid things, and you can't see how long it charted etc, or the B-side... this book will be my baby.
