Okay, i'm not sure if this topic makes sense. But do you think when a radio programmer looks at mediabase and sees that a song is losing steam, at lets say, #25 with a +100 bullet, do you think they say "Oh, since no one else is playing it, why should we?" and they drop it just to jump on the bandwagon? Another example is if they see a song that they like close to reaching #1 and then they dramatically increase it's spins so it can get there for sure. Do you think this happens often or do these programmers not care about what the rest of the country is playing and play whatever floats their boat?

Im sure they look to see whats gaining at other stations. no1 wants to be the last to jump on the band wagon.
There s so much corrpution in radio u really cant give a clear cut answer. If radio played what people asked it wouldnt be a problem...but of course they dont.

I have noticed many times when my radio station would do something like this. They never played Switchfoot's "Meant To Live" in the beginning, then the week when it entered the top ten on mediabase, they suddenly added it and were playing 50+ times a week just because it entered the top ten on Mediabase.

My rhythmic station did the same thing with "dip it low." I was requesting it in late June/early July and they wouldn play it the DJ had the nerve to tell me they wouldnt play it because it didnt get good ratings. And i'm like its already a HIT on billboard and is in the top 20 how can you not play it! Now all of a sudden they are playing it on heavy rotation

Radio programmers definitely pay attention to Mediabase. If a song is doing good then they'll on jump on the bandwagon, if not, then they'll let it go. At least I think that's how the KIIS programmers are ;).
Thanks, Ben

Reminds me when I was talking to Haze of KHTS 93.3 a while back on AIM! It was when Vanessa Carlton & Ashanti were tied for #1 and I IMed him and said "Please play Ashanti so she can be #1 on Mediabase!"
and then he replied "Oh hey.. I didnt know this was you." :o SHOCKING! Who did he think I was ???

Guess thats why they never played anything from "3d" Sorry! Don't get me started. Oh well... "Girl Talk" was a Top 22 SMASH, Top 30 @ Billboard. "Damaged" was also a Top 20 Pop hit! If you want more facts, just let me know!

Sorry! If you want more facts, just let me know! I forgive you. No need for more facts, "dip it low" is a #2 pop hit and on its way to being a top 5 billboard hit
