I've noticed from watching performance clips of "American Idol" from season one that there was another weirdo host.
Who was this second host and why did he dissapear after the closure of Season One of "American Idol"?

His name was Brian Dunkleman, and he was supposedly a stand-up comedian. He disappeared because he was creepy, smarmy, and not funny at all. The man made Ryan Seacrest look like God's gift to hosting.

He disappeared because he was creepy, smarmy, and not funny at all. Hahahaha. Actually it was because he declined to come back for another year, apparently he was v. disaffected with the show. What a mistake on his part.

I like thinking he was fired better because he was completely unwatchable.

I actually heard that they just did not offer him a contract for the second season.

He has been sighted in bars watching American Idol and drunkenly relating and moaning about his experience. I think he was initially content to be off the show, because you could literally smell the sense of disdain come off him when he was hosting. After his so-called 'routine' bombed on Letterman and his stand-up career has basically amounted to nothing, i'm sure he began to regret it.
