It has come to my attention that a non-rock track has potential to make it to 45+ weeks on the Hot 100.
This #1 multi-format smash continues to be an impressive staple across CHR/Pop, Urban, CHR/Rhythmic and even a handful of Hot AC stations.
With the possibility of even "Confessions Part 2" dropping off the Pop chart before "Yeah!", which is losing less than 200 spins this week as of this moment, this will prove to be a hit that'll be hard to shake from the Hot 100.
Can this hit make it to 50+ weeks on the Hot 100? Please post your thoughts and analysies.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I predict 52 weeks. If "Get Low" can make it to 54 weeks or whatever it did, I don't see why "Yeah" can't.

When will it be kicked off for recurrent status? Once it goes below #50? How many so far?
I don't think it'll last as long as "Get Low."

I wonder if the Hot 100 compilation methodology change will shorten its stay by a few weeks, though by December it should be at about 50 weeks or so anyway, right?

The changes aren't going to affect this single much. It is STILL the #1 recurrent on CHR/Rhythmic, a strong recurrent at Urban, and has yet to be shaken off the CHR/Pop chart. With three formats bolstering this track up, this will stay around possibly through the end of the year. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I was just thinking about it when I was commenting on the song's longevity on the Pop chart.
With Confessions Part II cooling fast, radio will go back to playing "Yeah!" It looks like it will outlive two followup #1s. Is that a record, or have the Beatles or one of the Gibb brothers done that?

Definitely never happened for the Bee Gees/Andy Gibb, and I'm almost positive the Beatles never did that either. On a somewhat similar note (well, maybe not), Jessica Simpson's "With You" has now outlasted both of its followups on AT40.
