I can't recall a topic on this so there is one now.
For me...
Hope Of the States - The Red, The White, The Black, The Blue (much better than Megalomaniac if that's possible. Not a slagging on Bush, but politics period, and the color effects are greatness.)
Franz Ferdinand - Matinee (The choreography in the video rules all choreography before it)
Modest Mouse - Float On (For obvious reasons, ingenious idea for a video.)
Metric - Combat Baby (Claymation in its finest, that and the lead singer dancing around while the missles are coming at her is great.
I also have to give honerable mention to Scissor Sisters' Take Your Mama Out. Nothing better than cows in space.
Also have to take my hat off to Death Cab For Cutie's video for The Sound Of Settling, hands down the funniest and the most creative video of the year.
What are your favorite vidoes of this year people?

"Eight Easy Steps" ~ Alanis Morissette That's a pretty good video too. Quite eerie also. Impressive how they got her lips from previous videos to hum the lyrics to this new song. At least it's eerie to me having a single video encompassing your whole retrospective career to date. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I haven't seen the video for Eight Easy Steps.
I swear though, after the first time I watched Everything, I wanted to shag Alanis. Is it just me or does the shorter hair make her absolutely sexified?

Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved" is one of my favorites. The cinematography and the editing makes it a great video.
Thanks, Ben

Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved" is one of my favorites. The cinematography and the editing makes it a great video. Wasn't that awfully boring with the band playing and the lead singer jumping around all the time? ???

I don't get to see many videos, but my favorites at this point would be "Take Me Out", "Megalomaniac", and "A Favor House Atlantic".

"Megalomaniac", "Hey Ya!" (though it's sort of last year), the three Kanye videos.
I still don't get what's so great about "99 Problems", it's not a bad video or anything, but I don't know why it's being liked that much.

This has been a real slow year for videos. I liked the Incubus video, Pink's God Is A DJ video and I liked Janet's All Nite, but other than that it was kinda meh. I guess Britney's 2 videos were alright.

I didn't get to see many of the videos that came out the first half of this year, since I was in Italy... but I guess the trade off is I got to see some cool videos that I otherwise never would've seen..
One of themn would be "Piccola Stella Senza Cielo" by Ligabue, which is probably one of my favorite videos ever. Really cool imagery, scenery, and special effects.
I really liked the "Toxic" video... really nothing new here, but still a great video... and who could forget Britney in that diamond suit.
I also thought Blink 182's "I Miss You" was one of the year's best. Also, while simple, I enjoyed Nelly Furtado's "Try" video and think it suits the song well.

hmmm. togh one. i havn't seen many, but i would have to say:
pretty much everyone i saw sucked. save a horse ride a cowboy was decent, hate float on and never seen the video, take me out is also not bad, my favorite would have to be eminem, without me. no questions asked, best video of all time, or at least the decade.

"Without Me" is a great video, though not, in my opinion, THE best so far this decade. It's up there, but "The Scientist" and "Hurt" are the two stand-out videos I've seen thus far. If I had to pick one from this year, it'd probably be "Take Me Out". However, "Talk Shows On Mute" is also remarkable. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I don't know why I forgot about this video, but Joss Stone's video for Super Duper Love is another piece of cinematic greatness.
Why did VH-1 play the hell out of this while MTV never touched it?
