Someone should start up that Video Chart again! Now that I think about it, it was cool recognizing the great videos from week to week.
Anway, what are your current top videos?
Mine:
1. "Explode," Nelly Furtado: Unfortunately I don't think we'll be seeing this one in the US. But you can watch it online, there's a link in the topic for this song in Global Music. This is mostly an animated video, but the colors and imagery really fot the tone and subject of the song well. Nelly's looking great in the non-animated performance part of the video.
2. "The New Workout Plan," Kanye West: Kanye has yet to disappoint with his videos. This one is hilarious. I can't remember the last time a video actually made me laugh.
3."World On Fire," Sarah McLachlan: With a totally different approach to a video, Sarah really uses her "$150,000" video that cost $15 to leave a powerful message.
4. "California," Lenny Kravitz: This is the kind of video that makes you wish you were in it. The performane part of the video takes place in this really cool beach-club sort of place and you want to jump right into the scene. I love the fun, summery feel of just hanging out by the beach, and the imagery of the sunset and surfing at the beach is awesome.

When it asks "whats wrong with this video?" the answer that comes to mind is that they should show Sarah in a mini-skirt with a see thru top gyrating againsta a pole instead of some pictures of third world countries and where the video money should be spent.

Furtado's on a fourth single already? I thought that "Explode" was her third single off of Folklore? ??? Or did she release "Forca"? Well at least she's receiving some support, any work of her hitting the studio for her third album soon? Anywho, some of my other favorite vids. are: Nelly F. - Try Lenny K. - WAWR

Vanessa Carlton - White Houses
It's a shame neither MTV nor VH1 are really playing this at all. Such a beautiful video.

I also like the video for "The New Workout Plan", it's probably my favourite right now. LOL @ BET for blurring out the words "Now Videohofeshinal" under Lasandra's name.

Alicia Keys' new video for "Karma" is definitely up there now as one of my favorite current videos. I love the dual set-up of her playing piano surrounded by capoeira and drum people in an NYC subway station and playing piano in a huge outdoor amphitheater in the Dominican Republic. Easily her best video to date.

Vanessa Carlton - White Houses It's a shame neither MTV nor VH1 are really playing this at all. Such a beautiful video. It is getting play on "MTV Hits" which is only available on digital cable. I think it's pretty decent. My favorite video right now, even though it isn't for a single being released in America, has to be Franz Ferdinand's "Matinee".

I saw Velvet Revolver's "Fall to Pieces" today for the first time. Wow! I thought it was really powerful.
And Sarah McLachlan's video is really quite good too. Makes me realize how much money I spend on stupid stuff.
