I was just listening to Dave Matthews Band and it seems that he has a recurrent theme of death or dying in some of his songs. I think I read somewhere that his sister was killed. But I can't remember the details. Anyone know? I also remember when I first started listening to some CDs of DMB that were lent to me by a friend. I remember thinking it was odd how often he uses the word "monkey" in his lyrics. LOL!
Do you notice any recurrent themes or words in songs by other artists?

3 Doors Down "Away From the Sun" CD has the theme of being away from loved ones throughtout the album.
Kenny Chesney has a ton of songs about nostalgia, "I Go Back", "Live Those Songs", "Back Where I Come From" and "Young". Actually a lot of country stars do, but he's had quite a few hits with these.
