I thought it was something we could discuss here. Discuss and not fight.
I guess GC, Sum 41, Simple Plan goes in this category. Maybe Avril too.
I'm sure you guys know a lot more bands and artists which can be "put" in this category.
GC and Simple Plan has sold ok but not as expected. The same with Sum 41 I guess.
Was this just a trend?
Are people bored with this kind of music? Are you?

I don't think it's fair to decide the future of pop punk. It's not going to change. It's either going to stay or leave. In other words, it was just a trend.

Its going to go eventually but a few staples will stay.
And for a fad, its lasted a pretty long time, considering Green Day came out around 92/93 and Blink 182 came out a year or two later.

Really, when I think about it. This whole "emo" thing has kind of taken this in.
Where as a few years ago, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Jimmy Eat World, The Get Up Kids, My Chemical Romance, etc... would have been considered "pop/punk", they're now looked at as "emo".
I don't think its died, it just has a new label.
