That looks too good to be true, but they lose points for playing Enya.

Wasn't Enya big on Alternative radio in the early '90s (possibly pre-dating the R&R chart for it) though?

Wasn't Enya big on Alternative radio in the early '90s (possibly pre-dating the R&R chart for it) though? Yeah. To me, the station sounds like what Alternative would have been if grunge never hit it big. They play a lot of 80/early 90's music too, but not just the overplayed golds. Last night I heard an Elvis Costello track I had never heard before, and this morning I heard INXS's "Disappear". The station is the resurrection of WLIR, by the way. Their format flip failed miserably, so now they're back. Online at www.streamaudio.com/stations/asx/WLIR_FM.asx or 107.1 FM on Eastern LI or Southern CT.

No Foo Fighters? No System of a Down?
I possibly would have never gotten FULLY into alternative had grunge never become popular. Sometimes I need to hear some guitars, and some talented artists behind them. Mix in a little STP, Queens, & FF, (and a little actual emo-punk) and that station would be set. Until then, I will PASS.

I guess that to me, guitars does not always=great music. Some albums amaze me and have little/few in use (ie. Remedy by Basement Jaxx).
I wouldn't mind hearing an alternative station that still regularly played Erasure and Depeche Mode regularly. It seems more triple A to me, though... Simply Red and James Blunt are great examples of why it seems more like that than alternative to me.
