Default says they are 99% sure this is the next single. (From a journal on their website).
I think it's a great choice, definitely one of my favorites. I did notice "I Can't Win" was #11 on the Canadian rock charts this week. I guess it was just a single up here.

Dammit, I wish I Can't Win would go for adds here. They really need a harder song to win back the masses.

my favourite song on the album! Im glad they are at least considering this for release. if they wanna go hard, release Hiding From The Sun. thats a rrrrreally good hard tune by them. probably the best one.

My goodness, they're already on their third single??!! I remember "Count On Me" barely scraping the top 40 back in late fall, and in February, they are already out with a third single. Amazing.
On a related note, does anyone remember the band Greenwheel? These guys kind of remind me of them. Although I've never listened to Default's albums, I have Greenwheel's first one and still listen to it to this day.

Last year they rereleased the original version of Soma Holiday that's actually completely different from the other one. I'm pretty sure they're working on a new album now.

The only way this album is going to do anything now is if they re-release "Count On Me" to the mainstream formats.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

On a related note, does anyone remember the band Greenwheel Yeah, I remember their singles "Shelter" and "Breathe" quite well. Last I heard, they were dropped from Island Records and are still looking for a new label.

Well, I'm surprised they are going three-deep considering they've only had one major radio hit song, and that was over four years ago. I'm not slamming the band, but the fact that I haven't heard anything from them on local radio since "Taking My Life Away" about two times in 2003 is a telling fact that their star has faded. Even I am surprised they are still around, considering they haven't really found success from this album even on AR/Rock & Hot AC, but more power to them.

According to Mediabase "I Can't Win" is getting no airplay at all in the US. So there is quite a gap between "Count on Me" and "It Only Hurts" assuming they do go ahead with this one.

Well, I don't know about you, but I don't usually expect bands to give up performing music just because they don't become successful on radio. Default does seem like the kind of band that would be in it for mainstream success, but I'm glad that they're apparently better than that sort of behavior. Or did you mean that you're surprised they're still around as in still trying to send songs to radio?

they're doing alrite in canada. they're making money for the record label so the label wont drop them. they're still in the process of finding a successful sound. they were pushed into the mainstream so quickly. I think they'll be a long time band but not with huge radio hits like Finger Eleven, Cold, etc.

The first part is absolutely correct, but it strikes me as odd that a band tailor-made for radio airplay would continue to release music and not achieve any sort of radio success here. I understand Canada is their home country and has been supporting them from what I hear, but the States was the home of grunge and if Nickelback can be successful here, then why not these guys? The "still being around part" is acceptable. I mean, Sister Hazel are still around and they aren't even trying for radio success. If you put it in baseball terms, it's like Albert Pujols, despite all his talent, getting rejected from a Major League Training Camp and having to resort to playing in a men's league. (nothing against people in men's leagues, I played there last year ) And to add upon that point, bands like Finger Eleven or Cold had one or two albums before they even achieved a radio hit. Default were IT right from the get-go and now they're stuck in the doldrums. That IS odd.
