They're back! February 27th add date for this first single from their first album since 2000's Time Bomb, Fifteen.

Buckcherry. They had two albums. Did the song "Lit Up". Underrated act. Was assumed to become big but never did. Fronted by Josh Todd.

Oh yeah, I just googled them and I remember they did cover of a Janet Jackson song on her MTV Tribute.

Yes, well. That's beside the point.

The only song I hear by them anymore is Ridin'. It's ok but not great.

I pretty much disliked these guys a lot. The only song I heard of theirs I could tolerate was "Lit Up", and I remember being happy to hear news that they'd broken up.

I'm glad to see these guys back. Anybody who doesn't remember them, they had 3 singles I recall from their self-titled album, Lit Up, For The Movies, and Check Your Head back in the late 90s. This song pretty much sounds the same as their other stuff. I'm hoping this does decently to give them a known rock name again.

I really like their first album (and should remember to listen to it more often). It's great, sleazy rock. But there's a fine line between good sleazy rock and just god-awful trash. And despite liking "Ridin' ," I knew from Time Bomb's second single "Porno Star," that they have trouble, themselves, seeing the fine line and that I probably give (gave) them more credit than they're worth.
KNSX has played their new song, "Next to You," (the single, I had believed, until now) which is thinly veiled, bland trash. A Buckcherry song called "Crazy Bitch" will piss away more of their credit with me. Clearly, I don't even need to hear it.

My active station still plays "Lit Up" all the time. I still can't believe they'd let a song about cocaine use get that much airplay and attention, not that I am against it.

Great song , sounds like something from the heyday of cock-rock circa 89/90 . The lyrics sure are quite sleazy but their overall sound is very refreshing these days.

I hate frat-party songs. Sorry, this is going to be one of the worst songs of 2006.

Either here or on the R&R boards I remember starting a topic that Buckcherry broke up.

Either here or on the R&R boards I remember starting a topic that Buckcherry broke up. They did briefly after Time Bomb. In that time Josh Todd released his solo album. And now they're back, with a mostly new lineup.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but not only has this grown into a full-force guilty pleasure for me, but I think it could work at Pop if they wanted to try it. (If Hinder can try twice, surely this could.)

Oh, I fully expect them to try "Next 2 You" on pop. If they don't they're retarded.

(If Hinder can try twice, surely this could.) I absolutely agree. "Crazy B****" is already selling quite strong on iTunes (#36 currently) with album sales impressively consistent right around #50 on the Billboard 200 for a while now. They obviously will need to find a lighter synonym to replace all the uses of the F word throughout the song, but with songs like "Promiscuous" already heating up the charts, this could make a minor to moderate impact if it crosses over. I admit enjoying this single also very much, as sleazy and straight-forward as it is. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

"b**ch" songs always do good on the charts. Sort of, at least on alternative: Meredith Brooks - Bitch: 21 wks, #5 Bowling For Soup - The Bitch Song: 1 wk, #50 Stone Temple Pilots - Hollywood Bitch: 8 wks, #28 Jet - Cold Hard Bitch: 28 wks, #1 I was surprised to find that "Smack My Bitch Up" by Prodigy somehow never charted on alternative. I thought stations play that all the time.

I suppose Dope's Bitch is the exception that proves the rule. Dope songs never do well.

That shocks me as well. I remember way back when that song came out, it was all over the place. I still hear it quite frequently as one of the most played recurrents when I do turn on the radio once in a blue moon.

"Smack My Bitch Up" is just a dance song with a menacing beat that repeats the same line over and over again. I could only listen to that song while watching the video.

Their myspace has the clean version, but I don't think you can download it directly from the site. (But there is some getaround that you may or may not be able to still use; just search Google for "download myspace songs" or something like that.)
It also may be on one of the Modern Rock Promo Only torrents.

Was this pre-"Girl All the Bad Guys Want"? I've never heard of this one.
