any source you'd like to cite.
Genesis "Throwing It All Away"
Source: R&R CHR (one week)
This song has no flavour what so ever, I did not like it at first listen and I really do not like it now. Should have released "Into Deep" as the follow-up to "Invisible Touch", the "Deep" song could have been a instant #1, really.
Lionel Richie "Dancing On The Ceiling"
Source: R&R CHR (one week)
What a mindless piece of recording. The follow-up was "Love Will Conquer All", great ballad!
Boston "Amanda"
Source : All the major charts!
Their sound is unmistakebly that "Boston" sound from a rock band that reformed. Not a bad song, but certainly not the list of my favourites. I thought that the song was basicly boring. I prefer "More Than A Feeling" which I played on my show last week! The latter peaked at #2 on the R&R CHR listing.
Nelly "Hot In Herrre"
Source : R&R CHR (multiple weeks)
One of the most overrrated hip hop stars in the millenium. This was indeed over spun in the clubs and on the radio it drove me almost over the top. Here is one positive note, I ranked this a couple of years ago at #101 for the 101 Greatest Pop Songs Ever, because of it's popularity based on my judgement.
Prince "Cream"
Source : All the major charts (I think)
As a rule of thumb, I rule anything that Prince puts out. I do like the other follow-ups such as "Diamonds & Pearls" and "Money don't Matter 2 Nite". But this one with that guitar riff and meaningless (IMO) lyrics kills it for me.
I will have more later on..

I actually like all of those songs lol, well except for "Hot in Herre". At this point, I'm with you that it was played so much, "it drove me almost over the top." I still like it more than two of his other #1's (see below).
Here are some recent Hot 100 #1's that I'm not crazy about... if I think of any older ones I'll be back.
Nelly - "Grillz", "Shake Ya Tailfeather" JLo - all that apply D4L - "Laffy Taffy" Ja Rule f/Ashanti - "Always on Time" Crazy Town - "Butterfly" Savage Garden - "I Knew I Loved You" Aerosmith - "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing"
Edit: Oh yeah, I can't forget about Right Said Fred - "I'm Too Sexy". Easy to make fun of now, but even when it was brand new, it did nothing for me.
