I've been fascinated by hidden or subliminal messages in songs. I've checked out several websites. Perhaps the most famous subliminal messages ever in music were the Beatles' constant "Paul Is Dead" conspiracy in the mid-'60s, and, of course, the "Stairway To Heaven" Satanic message. There's a recent Jay-Z song that this preacher discovered. I believe it's the song "Lucifer" from the Grey album, although the preacher, quite mysteriously, never defines the song. The point he's obviously trying to make is that hip-hop is the anti-Christ. I can't find the video because YouTube is currently down, and I can't find it on any other sites, but I'll post it ASAP. For the record, I don't believe it. Are there any backwards songs files that anyone would want to share? www.talkbackwards.com

There are some songs where the artist intentionally backmasks messages. I know Weird Al has done it a couple of times (in one song I think he says "You must have a lot of time on your hands." ) There's a website that has backwards portions of a few notorious songs, but I don't remember what it was offhand.

This is the website I mentioned earlier. It's got about a dozen tracks, with most of them revolving around Satan. Definitely listen to the backward tracks first before reading the "lyrics." jeffmilner.com/backmasking.htm

Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right" has to have some sort of subliminal message because I have NO idea what it's about!

I once reversed Van Halen's "Right Now" and got "I love to make wine, it's easy."

Along with the Beatles tunes, the Weird Al subliminal ("Satan eats cheese whiz") is clearly intended. The message is crystal clear, and it's likely they actually recorded it and then played it backwards for the original version.
The Britney spears one ("Sleep with me, I'm not too young") will leave me wondering though, considering so many corporate hawks were involved in processing her debut album.
I used to be able to use that talkbackwards link, but tried it again after I posted the link and, no luck. Must be the laptop.

Britney's Baby One More Time supposed have a subliminal message, I've heard some time ago and it actually sounded like it really was saying that. It's this bit: ".... with you I lose my mind. Give me a sign." Reversed, it sounds like, "Sleep with me, I'm not too young." Work it Britney. The Beatles ones are almost legendary! There are so many of them and those references, Freddie Mercury has one aswell. I'd live to think that Nelly's 'maneater' is somehow satanic aswell! Cause damn I LOVE that song but that song HAS to have something diabolic within it, it's just really satanic, the sound, the noises around it. There's gotta be something from evil hidden there

I've heard the Britney one, and honestly it's the power of suggestion that makes it sound like that--- it vaguely sounds like it, but not really, but if you have it in your mind that it'll sound like that then it will.

Not sure if this is real or not, but it's definetly interesting.... ebaumsworld.com/2006/11/jay-z-subliminal-message.htmlI DON'T think this made like this on purpous and it's dumb that the church is using something like that as an example to how corrupt the music industry is.

Do you know what song thats from? It seems on purpous, but that'd be an awfully big coincidence.

I actually tried downloading the same song and backwards-playing it myself. When I couldn't do that without paying $50 in cash/check over the Internet and waiting 2 weeks for this worthless, impossible-to-use, space-hogging piece of crap for my computer, I tried downloading a Jay-Z file someone on the Ebaums' forums managed to backtrack themselves. Of course, the reversed file did not reveal anything. The song is evidently "Lucifer" (as I, *AHEM*, mentioned above), but the preacher fails to even identify the song . It was fabricated by the preacher to prove a ridiculous point - that hip hop is the Devil (again... )

Maybe I'm crazy and don't directly associate Catholic school-girl uniforms with underage sex, but the amount of attention she received for her "...Baby One More Time" video far outweighed the message she was trying to deliver. And considering giant corporations and giant producers absolutely dominated every apperance Britney made, every word she uttered, and every lyric she wroter, a phrase so structurally awkward "when I'm not with you, I lose my mind" might have actually been used by those same mega-producers as a subliminal message itself. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but these popstar-producing assholes will try anything. I've seen videos, and it's disgusting. "Sleep with me, I'm not too young" sounds almost crystal-clear in the backtrack, given that it's not a hoax.

Most of those are obviously fake. People make them so you'd believe that's what is being said.

And even if they ARE subliminal messages, NO ONE is going to notice them until they reverse the song. In other words, the "message" is not getting through if the listener is listening to the song in the right direction.
And like someone else said, a suggestion to what the aritst is saying backwards makes the person "hear" it.

I would actually be willing to listen for subliminal messages in every one of Britney's singles. Like I said, Britney was dominated in every way, shape, and form by her mogul producers. She was strictly corporate-processed from the beginning, so why should she have personality or a diva's presence? It's not her cup of tea, and, I'm sorry, but I don't believe that she can and will ever be able to "do it alone".
I'm open-minded that these backmasked messages are, in fact, real. It's disguting, but...there. I'm officially a conspiracy theorist.
