What a shame. And they would have completed 10 years this year. I discovered this at Radio-Info. Could this be the end of Wild 94.9 as we know it?
And there is a rampant rumor circulating that the former Wild team will be moving over to Live 105 and replace Howard Stern's time slot when his show stops airing. This is just a rumor.
And this letter may have had something to do with it also.

Dear Mr. Martinez:
This morning, members of the non-profit performing arts organization
the San Francisco Renegades were in your studios to appear on the
"Doghouse" radio show to promote their annual fundraising concert,
Loud Music Symposium 6.
It is my understanding that while waiting in the studio prior to their
on-air appearance, a member of your staff told one of the female
members of the Renegades' colorguard "I like it when you lick my
balls." On the air, the members of your staff, including DJs
"Elvis" and "JV" were equally abusive and degrading towards the
members of the Renegades, including but not limited to telling one
female member something along the lines of "you joined colorguard
because you were too fat to be a cheerleader."
Besides the fact that members of your staff apparently do not
understand the media's responsibility to help promote community events,
or what constitute acceptable standards of professionalism on the
air-even in the context of an "morning zoo" type radio show-I
am deeply disappointed and angered at the actions of your employees
towards the members of the Renegades. I will not tolerate the
degradation, abuse and illegal harassment of the members of the corps
who appeared on your radio show to promote their annual concert just
because your staff is unaware of what constitutes socially acceptable
and legal conduct.
Very truly yours,
Lee Rudnicki, Esq.

CONTROVERSIAL PROGRAM DEEMED TOO EDGY FOR STATION'S OWNER
By Brad Kava
Mercury News
A week after insulting members of a San Francisco drum and bugle corp on and off the air, KYLD-FM's (94.9) once highly-rated ``Morning Doghouse'' show has been taken off the air.
The move also comes just over a month after shock jocks JV and Elvis, and producer Hollywood, helped initiate a student walkout in San Jose that possibly cost the East Side Union High School District thousands of dollars.
``The station has taken into account feedback from the community in recent weeks in coming to this decision,'' wrote Dennis Martinez, KYLD's program director, in a brief news release with little detail.
The often controversial and racy Doghouse was started by hosts J.V. (Jeffray Vandergrift) and Elvis Medina at San Jose's Hot 97.7, moving over to San Francisco when that station was sold.
Its parent company, Clear Channel Communications has been vocal in efforts to clean up the airwaves, the most visible effect of which was dumping the syndicated Howard Stern show from its stations, despite his high ratings. Stern, who has been fined more than $1 million by the Federal Communications Commission, was too edgy for the company.
Ratings for the Doghouse have dropped significantly in the past year. In the most recent Winter ratings, released this week, the Doghouse was in 10th place for listeners over 12. Over the show's past decade, it was often in the top five.
