What Tortuga did. I'll start a column for this song, considering it's starting to get mentioned over in the "I Write Sins..." column. I guess it will be either #14 or #15 by next update; this band could be THE breakout band of 2006 but of course they have Blue October and Death Cab/Avenged Sevenfold (carry-overs from last year) breathing down their neck. Still can't believe the lead singer is only 18; first rock singer I can think of who is currently younger than I am.
I'm actually glad radio is playing this one (did they actually choose this as a single?). That part where he says "teen hearts beating faster, faster" in "Lying Is..." is just corny and contrived, in my opinion. That part in the middle where the beat changes still gets me every time. This album will probably do big things.

Thank you.
They didn't chose this as a single. They made a video for "I Write Sins.." for the sake of making a weird video and not for a radio push. Radio just took notice of this album track on their own and started playing it and well... look where it is now.
The girl from Paramore is 16 and the kid that sings for the screamo band From First To Last is only 17. They're getting younger. :o

I can't say I enjoy their music that much, but wow at the lead singer. I can't believe he's younger than I am (I'm 19). He's very good looking too :o All these breakthrough bands are so young that it's starting to make me feel like I'm aging rapidly.

the kid that sings for From First To Last is only 17. Wow, I didn't realize that. I'm older than half of the Used and all of Avenged Sevenfold. I think half of Fall Out Boy, too.

I heard this yesterday on my station and the DJs do actually bother saying the title in its entirety. But they sound very out of breath by the last word, lol.

Whereas the TRL VJs only say the first half of Fall Out Boy's new song title. I can't say how it goes on commercial radio yet.

Is this a record for the longest song title in the Top 10?

Yes and no.
In terms of how many words are in the title, that distinction goes to Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand by Primitive Radio Gods.
But for most letters in a song title that went top 10, it belongs to Panic! At the Disco.
Primitive Radio Gods however do have the longest song title to go to #1 unless Panic! At the Disco makes it that far.

I guess this decided to peak at #4. Thats not bad at all but I thought it would be bigger than any of the singles from The Band That Shall Not Be Named.
Its getting most of its plays from a Las Vegas station, which is not surprising in the least since all the members of Panic! are from that city.

As of just this morning, actually, I've heard this song a grand total of 3 times. Thanks for nothing, St. Louis. I never did hear "Tear You Apart" on the radio ever and now it's already out of the Top 10, so why should either of my stations bother now?

Every station has similar situations to this. I don't know if this example works or not, but 2 years ago, when Seether and Amy Lee's version of Broken was hitting the Top 10 on Alt., WPBZ in West Palm Beach never played it and only played the Seether only version maybe 12 times a week. Then, later that summer when I moved up to Orlando for school, the Seether/Amy Lee version went recurrent and WOCL was still playing it 40 times a week, which later became their #1 song of 2004 I believe.
