May 8th for this new band. They got their video played on TRL in its entirety and I have no idea why. TRL is usually not this generous when it comes to showing videos from new bands. www.thepinkspiders.comwww.purevolume.com/pinkspidersMan, they're really serious about their name. From the clothes they wear, to their website, and the name of their album, Hot Pink.

I saw these guys play here at UCF with Yellowcard and Acceptance. I don't want to say they're a "bad" band, but I didn't think any of their songs were very catchy or memorable. I couldn't really classify what kind of band they were since it sounded like a mix of punk/indie/classic rock I guess. It could have been the overall atmosphere because like 4 or 5 unknown bands played beforehand and the crowd was harassing and booing them since they were fed up with all these opening acts coming before Acceptance. What else could you expect from a bunch of drunk college kids.
Anyway, their whole "pink" concept was interesting, but I don't know how well it would go if they ever get big.

I thought they were alright. I can't remember any of their songs either but I remember not having any problems with them. I think they're more power-pop than anything else, but that could be a miscategorization on my part. I don't remember any classic rock in their mix though. I do agree about the pink theme: they're really doing their best to capitalize on their name. That's the kind of oddity that's more likely to turn people away than get their attention.

That's more likely to be seen as a desperate, forgettable novelty. And this topic is the first I'd ever heard of these guys.

They're going to be the opening act to Good Charlotte. Me smell some huge Pop following in the very near future.

I really enjoy this song, but then again I enjoyed GC's first CD, so cred me out. Are Good Charlotte coming back with a new CD? I just assumed they were done, after their last album flopped so badly.

Yeah, they have a new album titled #4 coming out in February. I'll admit I really liked their first album, and most of the second one. After one listen of The Chronicles of Life & Death though, I've disregarded them for the most part.

See, I thought the songs on their debut were pretty lame, at least lyrically, but I love the second one. Their last album was their best, most mature yet and in fact, it's one of my 50 favorite albums of all time. Punk credibility issues aside, I don't understand why a lot of people seem to have had the opposite experience with them, in terms of being a fan.

This song sucks. It reminds me of a bad version of Bowling For Soup. Not that BFS is amazing or anything, but at least they know what they are capable of and stick with their "1985, Girl All The Bad Guy Wants-esque" songs.

So by 1985 you mean that they know they're capable of being an SR-71 cover band?

I think the Pink Spiders are quite a different band, altogether, than Good Charlotte and especially Bowling For Soup, which makes it quite surprising that they will open for them. They would fit more with a Yellowcard or Acceptance (or maybe even Sugarcult), as AI mentioned.

They would fit more with a Yellowcard or Acceptance... Speaking of Acceptance, they recently broke up, in case anybody cares and/or hasn't heard.
