I'm really anxious to see if they can bounce back from their last album, which I feel ventured a little too far on the pop side of their emo/punk sound. I really want them to re-live their glory days here or achieve even more success. A hot Fenix TX cover would certainly not hurt here, though.
Still haven't heard this, as it isn't yet available on their MySpace....
Any thoughts?

But the Fenix TX song is called "All My Fault".

I really hope this new album is similar back to their early days when I used to watch them as a local band with the fast pop/punk sound that made them nationally known. It was quite depressing listening to the emo whining on Catalyst, and made me think they sort of "sold out."
They're changed the music scene incredibly in South Florida and they still have a huge fanbase there. To give an example, back in late 2002, they played at one of the local parks in Coral Springs (their and my hometown) with Finch, Something Corporate, and Further Seems Forever, and 20,000 people showed up.

But the Fenix TX song is called "All My Fault". OK, I stand corrected. I was thinking it was called "Not My Fault". Anyway, I'm really looking forward to listening to this.

I thought "Catalyst" was significantly more edgier-sounding than "Sticks And Stones" was, with the exception of tracks like "I Don't Wanna Know". "All Downhill From Here" certainly was a much edgier single than any single from "Sticks And Stones" ("My Friends Over You", "Head-On Collision") Now anything pre-STS, definitely, especially if they churn an album with the enthusiasm of "It's All About The Girls". Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Judging by these song titles to be featured on their new album, it looks like they're going to continue moving in a more mainstream direction ala All-American Rejects.
********
"It's Not Your Fault" "Oxygen" "Hold My Hand" "On My Mind" "Love And Pain" "Connected" "Familiar Landscapes" "Taken Back To You"
********

I remember hearing that they would be going back to their punk roots, but it wasn't from a real source, just worth of mouth from people I know. They are long overdue for a real pop crossover, maybe at last (like Weezer after "Buddy Holly"), they can actually achieve that with this album. And Sunny Scorpio was right in that Catalyst was different than their previous material. I guess I meant to write that it was more emo sounding and less pop-punk, which is what I originally heard from them with "Hit or Miss". If it sounds anything like the new AAR, I will be very disappointed. I'm keeping an open mind, though.

OK, multiple sources say that the new single will, in fact, be called "It's Not *Your* Fault", contradicting the title given by AllAccess. Considering the numerable mess-ups by AllAccess, such as "Hard In A Caage" (The Strokes) and "Hollaback" (Gwen Stefani), I'll change the title.

Here's a link to hear the full song. www.nothinggoldcanstay.com/Its actually better than I expected. I'm extremely impressed at how much Jordan's (the lead singer) voice has gotten a lot less whiney, like he has a totally different voice. While, its still emoish and not like their old pop-punk stuff, I think they're heading in the right direction in a way. I'm still really looking forward to their new album Coming Home September 19th.

"Now you, wait for, something, to cure this, Well I'm here, under your downpour. It's not your fault so please stop your crying now"
... well we were correct it was emo. I havent heard the song, Im doin that next. I just saw the lyrics and kinda rolled my eyes.

Looks like they will attempt to cross over with this.
After one listen, I really like it. Can't wait to see the video and how their image has changed since Catalyst, which wasn't really a change of image from Sticks & Stones (perhaps a little more mature....)

It's really too bad, because this is a worthy song. Something told me this would happen. There's still hope. I'd say it stood a chance at pop, but that surely kill this band forever at the most important format. I will DEFINITELY be downloading this album when it comes out.

Um, if you really like the band and want them to do good, I would buy it if I were you.

Um, if you really like the band and want them to do good, I would buy it if I were you. Ehhh...I thought about that, honestly I did. While I like New Found Glory and all, they are already quite wealthy. I'm working a part-time job at a local grocery store and am a student, so I'm struggling to get by. He's not. I'm sure Jordan Pundik would do the same thing if he was me. So Limewire, here I come!!

Don't worry about the band not making any money. Word on the street here in their hometown of Coral Springs is that a few of the members are buying houses in this very nice section of the city where the houses start at $2 million. Supposidly, quite a few athletes or celebrities including Adam Sandler owns a house in the same neighborhood since his wife was born and raised here, but I've never seen proof of any of that, and they're just rumors as far as I know. As for the song not doing very well thus far, it still has a bullet of +46 this week, but at this point will probably barely scrape the Top 50. Even the local Alt. station here WPBZ isn't playing it very much when they usually blow every NFG single up in the past. On another note, according to FMQB, it seems the single never went for official adds on their list. I wonder if they decided to change the single at the last moment? Also, the song Hold My Hand (another track off their new album) is available to listen to at boss.streamos.com/wmedia/geffen/new_found_glory/audio/coming_home/hold_my_hand/00_hi.asx?siteid=tp

So, was the video for this supposed to be bad? That's the only thing I can think of seeing it. I never thought nudity could be so pretentious.

Sounds like Jordan really hasn't changed his voice considerably since Catalyst, as I hoped he would. Musically, I think they've progressed and matured judging by the clips. They've gone in a more straight-up pop direction, which is OK in my book.
I don't think this stands much of a chance on alternative, unfortunately. And New Found Glory don't really have any momentum to build on on CHR/Pop. They will probably sell well with their hardcore fans from the early '00s but won't pick up many new people this time around. Which is sad, because I really am expecting this to be their best album.
And I guess rumor is "Hold My Hand" will be the second single. Guess we'll have to see.
