The band says this will be the first single used to promote their upcoming live album called Ra Raw, which is currently due out sometime in October through an as-of-yet unspecified label. The album will include three brand-new tracks, ten live tracks, and will probably be bundled with a DVD the band has been working on.
This is all to tide people over until their third album, tentatively titled Black Sun, is released in March or April of 2007, most likely through the same label that is releasing Ra Raw. They'll start working on that in the fall after a short September touring run in support of Ra Raw.
My guess as to who signed them? DRT. I suppose it could be Rock Ridge or Corporate Punishment, but DRT is really the only one of those three sending out singles to radio and Ra would fit in really well among Soil, Blindside, and Powerman 5000. I'm ruling out the likelihood of a major label solely because I think at this point Ra is more concerned about stability and creative control than anything else, and I don't think they would take their chances with another major label. I could be wrong and we'll see how right I am in the next few weeks.
In any case, I'm glad they're back on their feet.

I'm really looking forward to hearing this. Their last album was so underrated.

Okay, I was wrong about who signed them, but it's not my fault. There is a new label in town snapping up rock bands called Cement Shoes. I should've seen it coming since Ra is going on tour with Godhead and Ill Nino, both of which are now Cement Shoes artists. Cement Shoes also has a few other cool new bands: Media Lab, Forty Acres, and Lo Mass Republic. Between them, DRT, CPR, Rock Ridge, and Bieler Bros., I'll be happy for a long long time.

I bet my Hot AC (Portland, Oregon) station is the only one in the nation that still plays Ra's cover of The Police's "Everything She Does Is Magic".
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

This song has grown on me...at first I was like "meh" but now I do see it as a worthy first single. This band will never make it that big though. Judging by the music I don't think it's what they want either.

I can't stop listening to this song , this is one of the best power-ballads I've heard in a while.

Well, apparently this is the only new song on Raw, but there are more live tracks to compensate.
The tracklisting is like this.
01. Fallen Angels 02. Rectifier 03. Only 04. Violator 05. Superman 06. I Lost Everything Today 07. Tell Me 08. Sky 09. The Only One 10. Do You Call My Name 11. Skorn 12. Don't Turn Away
I guess they want to save all the new stuff for Black Sun. Can't blame 'em.
