I disagree. It's not heavy enough a rap-rock song to lure Infest fans. It sounds like what it would if the album Getting Away With Murder had rap in it, and I'm sure that rap is not what Infest fans were attracted to so much as the fact that Papa Roach used to be a lot more aggressive.

Awesome song. I predict this album will be great. It's so awesome to have so many good albums in one year. It's like a treat that I don't really deserve. Are you really that bad of a guy, now? Thanks for the link. This is pretty rockin'. The intro lyrics are kind of cringe-worthy, though. Yeesh. Jacoby says he wants respect, but returning to the rapping, or whatever he thought he was doing, takes some away from me that the band earned the last time out. I'll probably end up getting this right away, as long as I have an income by then and the price is nice. its a decent song... I wasnt sure what to expect after the talk of a piano player lol. Well, I do hear some keyboard sounds in there. Depending on how emphasized any keyboard parts may be, they'll probably have a guy up on stage playing bass usually, and in songs with minimal keyboard, like this one, they'll probably just program that through the sound board. I think this is the perfect single for them to release to regain some of the fans of Last Resort that didn't come back for the last few albums. And if they release a softer song similar to Scars, this will ensure Papa Roach as an alternative staple artist for a long time to come. Perhaps, but, personally, based on the last album, I say good riddance to any Infest fans turned off from the band by the last two records. They're such a better band now from a songwriting perspective.

This song is basically garbage and the lyrics are horrible if I may quote "taking it back to hardcore level you better be ready, put your pedal to the metal"-ouch...but it's insanely catchy so you are forced to enjoy it. I can't get it out of my head 10 minutes after I listen to it. It is an excellent lead single choice though.

I'll agree that it definitely is catchy, but I'm beginning to think that, with the rapping, maybe Jacoby is trying to acknowledge that it is a joke or novelty.

Yup definately by their standards...I was actually thinking the same thing about the song not taking itself too seriously, in which case the rapping would be a little easier to swallow.

As much as I really want to listen to this, I cannot stand that damn voice constantly repeating "Sneak Peek: Hear It Here First" throughout each song.

I'm listening to the album now. It sounds fucking awesome, but it would sound much better if that "you hear it here first" sound clip wasn't played every 10 seconds. Does anyone else know a site that's streaming the album?

Well after one full listen of the new album Paramour Sessions, I have to say overall I'm a little disappointed from what my expectations were originally. The first half of the album is pretty rocking overall, and is really what I wanted from most of the songs. From what I remember, Alive was a great hard-edged tune, that stood out to me the most out of any song. The rest of the album is kind of a blur in my memory, even though I just finished listening to it. There are quite a few Scars-like ballads in the second half of the album like Reckless or Roses On My Grave. I think it could take quite a few listens to really appreciate, but I'm just wondering if the band really decided to go into an entirely new direction, or was it the label.

I think it could take quite a few listens to really appreciate, but I'm just wondering if the band really decided to go into an entirely new direction, or was it the label. Here is my opinion, although I admit it is after only hearing half the album and just skimming through the rest. Firstly, I don't think the label made them do anything. Secondly, the only "Scars-like ballads" I found in the album are "What Do You Do", "Reckless", and "Roses On My Grave". None of them are particularly "Scars"-like at all. "Scars" was poppy through and through, but "What Do You Do" sounds like a pure power ballad, "Reckless" has a Western twang and a Southern rock grit to it, and the orchestra of "Roses On My Grave" completely seperates it from the straightforwardness of "Scars". The rest of the album is hard rockin, and the whole album rules. In fact, this might be their best album. I'll have to give it a full listen before I can say for sure, but I can say that I think they've improved a lot over the years. They've definitely surpassed GAWM in my book.

I think I'll definitely have to take another listen to it without the annoying "You Hear It Here First" clips, which kind of ruined my expierence. It may be the most diverse album they've ever made, and how no songs sound anything like another one on there. I think my expectations were too general, and didn't expect them to experiment with new sounds and such, and now I'm dying for it to actually leak so I can hear it again.

I heard an edit of the song on WHTG with the rapping at the begining and end edited out (the bridge was still intact). Is this an official edit?

Listening to the actual album now, and I really think Jacoby has become a far better singer over the past few years than when Papa Roach started out. This album is SOLID.
Possible singles in my mind so far are "Forever", "What Do You Do", and "I Devise My Own Demise". If anything, I at least want to see "What Do You Do". That is a freakin' awesome song.

So I just re-listened to the entire album. This time without the annoying ads, and I totally change my first impression. This album musically beats the crap out of anything else this band has done in the past with such a wide variety of material that I never knew Papa Roach was capable of. Jacoby is such an underrated frontman. Anyone who has ever seen them live sees that he puts 110% in his performance and talent and makes sure that each fan gets their money well spent. He's really shown on this album that he can truely sing and how the band has changed incredibly for the better since Infest came out 6 years ago.

KNSX starts the song right after the intro rap, where the opening riff repeats with no drums, right before the first chorus. Last year, they also omitted the scream in "Scars." Unlike pop stations, this was music and all. Most recently, they sliced out the final scream in the bridge to "Miss Murder." What the ***damn f*** is the point of an Alternative station doing that. They play the whole gamut of "alternative rock," save the more indie rock stuff usually, so it's not like they lean AAA or Hot AC.

Nicholas, I was in the St. Louis area last weekend, listening to 105.7 (or something like that) and I could have sworn they started "Chasing Cars" in the middle of the first chorus. Also, in "Tears Don't Fall" by Bullet For My Valentine, in the refrain where they scream before the chorus, they played a singing version. This was contrary to the versions I had listened to, including the one from AllAccess. I'm not trying to slam your station - my station never plays Kasabian, BFMV, or "Land of Confusion", so it was actually a breath of fresh air from all the old Sublime and Green Day songs my station continously overplays.
Anyway, did anyone catch P. Roach on Loveline on Sunday night? Jacoby had a much more "rock 'n' roll" personality than I ever would've imagined.

WHTG only played "Miss Murder" at night until the pop edit was released, and then they started playing the crap out of that version. They never had a problem with the scream in "Scars" though. They're another rather "soft" station. While I appreciate that they play certain songs (mostly in the so-called "indie" category, as well as some more AAA-type bands such as Guster) that other stations won't touch, I don't like that they will only play harder songs at night. I don't want them to start playing Godsmack or Disturbed, but I see no reason why bands like Tool and System of a Down shouldn't be in regular rotation.

Well, 105.7 (The Point) is KPNT, and is not KNSX, which is 93.3. KPNT's playlist is all over the place now, and I'm pleasantly surprised to learn from you, no less, that they're not above playing "Chasing Cars." (Very pleased to have caught "In My Place" and "Is It Any Wonder" this past week; "soft" songs they never played much if at all.) As I'm not very familiar with the "Chasing Cars"'-'s overall structure yet, I couldn't tell you for sure. As for "Tears Don't Fall," I never hear that on the Point. I've only heard the song twice, ever, both times being on the Point last summer. In fact, in the several times I've heard "To Be Loved" on the Point since my little KNSX rant, they've reduced it to the abbreviated version that KNSX plays. It's like, the song's barely 3 minutes as is. What's the point of that. (No pun intended.) I take it you must have heard a Kasabian tune as well? And I can't believe you brought it up, but, yes, I did, in fact, catch almost that whole Loveline with Papa Roach. Mind you, I hardly ever listen to the program. I love Dr. Drew, and if I had all the time in the world, I'd actually listen to Loveline every night. I just listen whenever I pass it by on the dial every once in a while. But yeah, I can't believe you weren't aware of Jacoby's personality by now.

But yeah, I can't believe you weren't aware of Jacoby's personality by now. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm certain that "Tears Don't Fall" was played on 105.7. The DJ stated that it was "one for the kids" so I got the impression that they didn't particularly play it in full rotation. Plus, it was a Shuffle Weekend. And I haven't heard anything from Jacoby in interviews since 2000, and those were primarily on MTV, when he basically re-iterated that he wanted his band to bring rock back to the mainstream, to TRL, and transform the Britney fans and what-not. As for Loveline, I still listen even after Adam Carolla made the idiotic career decision of leaving the show. Striker is an absolute tool who contributes nothing intelligent to the show, but that's only my opinion. They also seem to get a disproportionate number of calls from my area, but I've never recognized any caller (which, in the end, is probably a good thing).
