Woohoo! I can't freaking WAIT to hear their new stuff. This first single will hopefully kick ass harder than the hit by Zinedine Zidane in the World Cup.

Ever since I heard about the album (The Paramour Sessions) coming out on 9/12... I have been wondering about the single. "To Be Loved" is supposed to be one of the songs that features Coby doing the whole rap thing again. Just hope it's a good song and can't wait to hear it!

Hmm, so they may be going back to their Infest days? That could be very interesting. Personally, I'd like the new album to be a mix of all of the previous three since each one was different in its own sound.

"Last Resort" is one of the few songs I still can't stand today. Don't know too much about how their return to rap/rock will be received in the alternative community, but they should do well at least on the other rock formats, where post-2000 breakouts have dominated lately.
"Getting Away With Murder" (single) seemed to do better than its popularity by word of mouth or video airplay showed. And they'll probably never match "Scars" as far as listener appeal goes.
That said, I'm still eagerly anticipating their new sound.

After being pleasantly surprised by their last album, I'm very curious to see what they sound like this time out, especially since they'll be a five-piece.
P.S. Personally, I haven't read anything so far that said Jacoby would be doing any rapping again this time. I hope he doesn't.

Maybe not five official members, but while it wasn't 100% set in stone, I read that Tobin, while still laying down all the bass parts, put additional guitar parts on most, if not all, of the songs, and that when they play live, they'd probably have a touring bassist/keyboardist.

I thought Infest was a good album... for its time. I mean their album fit with the top selling bands. Going back to that sound would be a mistake. maybe a few raps here and there but I hope it wont be on every song. I'd love to hear the "Korn type bass" mixed with more yelling. screw the soft stuff, rock out with your balls out!!!... yeah I said it what

"It's looking like we're gonna be in the position where we'll need to get a touring player with us--maybe someone who can play keyboards as well as bass." --Jacoby Shaddix, Revolver, April 2006

I wonder, nay, hope that's an indication of the sound on this new album. I'd love to hear what Papa Roach could do with a piano. Maybe show people they're more skilled than they're given credit for.

8 seconds? More like 2. Just the first part of the chorus? I guess it's enough to show that it's not a rap-rock song as near as I can tell. Still sounds like it's on the GAWM wavelength, which is not a bad thing. And it's good to know it's not a "Scars" follow-up. To do that first thing would be a mistake.

Well, they have a clip now on their site with two full verses. I still don't hear any rap yet.

This sounds so 1999. "Taking it back to a hardcore level, you better be ready, put your pedal to the medal"? Who do they think they are, Kid Rock?

Sounds like Jacoby's doing our good friend Fred Diggity Durst a little favor with this track. Throw up ya rawwwkfist 'coz rap/rock is back, baby!!!
Really, though, this song rewinds me to my angsty "early years" of music listening. Wow, I never realized how much I missed TRL its nu-metal flipside. Someone call Justin Timberlake 'coz it's time to reunite 'N Sync!!!

I think this is the perfect single for them to release to regain some of the fans of Last Resort that didn't come back for the last few albums. And if they release a softer song similar to Scars, this will ensure Papa Roach as an alternative staple artist for a long time to come.

I happened to hear this on WJRR while driving today, and was very impressed at what I heard. Now I'm really eager to hear more tracks from this album. Man, this year has brought us and will continue to bring so many good albums for the next 5 months.
