Is Angela Via's "Christmas Wish" making any Christmas playlists yet?
I can't wait until tomorrow! After the short school break, just 2 1/2 real weeks left in this semester! Wow. I can't wait. I'm sick of all my boring classes this semester.

I just got back from a road trip to Atlanta and there are three radio stations in Birmingham playing Christmas music! In addition to WODL, WYSF and WMJJ are all-Christmas. Also, depending on what part of the Birmingham area you're in, you can also hear WBEI/Tuscaloosa, which is also all-Christmas. So you have a total of four stations in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa area!

EZ Rock 97.3 FM here in Toronto has gone all-Christmas, I noticed last week I hope they flip formats to CHR/Pop , Urban or Rhythmic after the New Year, LOL but that station is really popular at workplaces, so...but they can always have CHFI 98.1, lol we have too many AC/Hot AC stations here in Toronto, and not enough Pop, or under-25 audience stations, hell we dont even have a true Pop station Doesn't EZ Rock always go all-Christmas every year?

Considering we haven't had an All-Christmas station since '96 we now have 3! The AC, Christian and Adult Standard's have all switched.

Connecticut appears to have it's first ever all-Christmas station, as WEZN made the switch on Friday. Another local station was playing all holiday music last night, but I'm not sure if it's a permanent change. It seems unlikely given their usual format.
Also, there are 5 AC stations, all out of New York, that I pick up which have all made the switch, as of Friday -- WLVG, WALK, WBAZ, WNEW and WLTW!

In Connecticut, I read that WRCH is playing Christmas every other song and a New London station will go all-Christmas.

It should be getting some good airplay once again. I remember hearing it in The Wherehouse two years ago. It's gotta be doing well!

It seems I was mistaken in my earlier post. Two of the NY stations I listed have not switched to the all-Christmas format after all. WBAZ was playing Christmas music Friday night, but was back to normal over the weekend. Meanwhile, WLVG (which went all-Christmas in 2001 and 2002) is back to normal as of this morning.

You know, I can't listen to WNEW half the time...They're playing way too much of the soft, sappy Christmas music...It's just very, I don't know, it doesn't feel right to listen to on a walkman...
WLTW, on the other hand, has a nice mix of the pop Christmas songs and softer stuff...I'm enjoying their selection...
One thing I can't help but wonder, why aren't some of the more recent Christmas songs played on these stations? Stuff like Sugar Ray's "Little Saint Nick" or Blink-182's "I Won't Be Home For Christmas"...These are two of my favorites and I don't think I've ever heard them on the radio...

I agree about WNEW. I don't pick up that station that great anyway in Connecticut, but I don't care much for the old-time, sleepy Christmas music either.
I don't know why stations ignore a lot of the modern day pop-flavored Christmas songs. Probably for the same reason they ignore thousands of great pop songs of the past in favor of playing the same 50-100 gold songs all year long!

WJKK (Mix 98.7) has all-Christmas weekends.
And WIIN (Memory 780) is all-Christmas. But that station is a daytime-only broadcaster.
