This is the second single from Liberation Transmission. Although I think this is a good song, I really wish they would go with Everyday Combat or Can't Catch Tomorrow. This might be viewed as an attempt by them to cash in on the current music scene (which is arguably what they do, but that's another discussion for a later time), and I really think they should be trying their best to hook back in the fans who bought Start Something.

Yeah, Everyday Combat would have been my first choice as well, but this is one of my other favorites on the album that I can recall. I'm interested to see how this does. Rooftops has had a fairly good chart run, and Last Train Home and Make A Move both did very well from Start Something, but I wonder if this trend will continue.

Rooftops has had a fairly good chart run... I'm sure their record company would be quick to disagree with you. They really can't go too wrong with any song they choose for subsequent singles, so while this is not one of my 5 or 6 favorites, I'm still fine with it.

The song instantly reminded me of Incubus during its first 30 seconds leading up to the first verse. I think it's pretty clear at this point where some of their influence comes from.
This still has that anthemic chorus that the Lostprophets have become known for, but it gives more of a raw, gritty sound than does "Rooftops", which was probably all too poppy by their standards. I don't like how Ian's singing of "town called hy-po-CHRIS-y" doesn't sync up to the background (does anyone else know what I mean?) Oh, and let's just say the "la la's" in the bridge don't help at all.
