Unlike "Cell Phone's Dead", this song actually does exist. Goes for adds on September 4th.

Actually, "Cell Phone's Dead" does evidently exist, as it will be a track from his upcoming album, The Information. The album is also produced by the same guy who did Mutations and Sea Change. Beck changes his voice all too frequently, and I was never a fan of those two albums as a result. I hope this sounds at least somewhat catchy like "E-Pro", but I don't expect it to do nearly as well. www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1002986369

Um, Cell Phone's Dead is a real song. Nausea is a good song.

Apparently, one of the songs on the new album, "This Girl," includes the lyric: "This girl I know/I met her at a Jodeci show." Jodeci! How cross-culturally obscure! God, that's badass.

Look guys, if you remember the thread, then you know what I'm referencing, so don't be a Mr. Smarty Pants.

I first listened to this about an hour ago on my radio station. Apparently the new album will be more hip-hop influenced, unlike his last two albums. This wasn't as instantly catchy as anything else I've heard from him, including the classic grower "Hell Yes". It does, however, sound dramatically similar to "The New Pollution", with all the background noises and sound effects, but still less catchy. There also wasn't an instantly catchy chorus.

It sucks really bad. "E-Pro" is a masterpiece compared to this.

I'm listening to this again, and the only redeeming quality to it is the entertainment I get from the background noises. Absolutely uncatchy. I might as well be listening to "The New Pollution".

It's not that bad. It's pleasant to listen to, even if it is a little unmemorable.

It's okay. I like the music, but the chorus is kinda annoying.

OK, I've heard this almost a couple of times now. The music's very interesting, but the vocals just go nowhere. It's kinda short, too, so when it ended, I was left thinking, "That's it? Well that doesn't convince me to get the record right away." I dunno, despite the brilliance of Mellow Gold and Odelay, and the quirky charm of his two early lo-fi albums, he hasn't delivered any consistently good albums since. I've continually been underwhelmed, yet, even after 10 years, I keep thinking the next one will deliver what I'm looking for. I guess I need to snap out of it.

This is starting to grow on me a little, but yeah, he's definitely had better material in the past.

Wow, I must be the only one who thinks this is gold compared to the singles from his last album. I like the vocals and think it's quite catchy. Maybe I won't feel that way three months from now, but I'm pleasantly surprised to be enjoying this so far.

Growing on me QUICKLY.
It became one of my least favorite songs of the year to a near-top 40 appearance on my personal chart. Wow. It's already more interesting than most of the material from Guero, save "E-Pro".

Eh, I don't really care that much for this song, and I'm probably one of the bigger Beck fans here.
That being said, it doesn't have to be the best to work as good. I loved Midnite Vultures and preferred a few songs to "Sexx Laws". I still like most of Guero more than this song.

This album is all funky and stuff. "Strange Apparition" gets my vote for future single. It's the most radio-friendly tune I've heard on the album yet. That and "Think I'm In Love".
