September 4th is the add date for this TOTALLY UNEXPECTED third single from the band's self-titled.

Nice! Here's hoping for another top10 hit.

September 4th is the add date for this TOTALLY UNEXPECTED third single from the band's self-titled. I suppose you mean totally unexpected sarcastically. I read from some people who speculated that "Marker In The Sand" would be the third. Hey, penance, could you link me to the website you use for adds dates (similar to AllAccess)? I feel incredibly guilty for saying this, but I have not listened to this song. I suppose it's a ballad, and haven't listened to more than 6 or 7 songs from the album (Limewire keeps screwing me...). This from a man who considers them my favorite band of all time.

"Marker In The Sand" is clearly the more radio-friendly candidate, but "Gone" is beautiful nonetheless.
I just don't expect it to do much at Alternative; it's one of the more laid-back tracks on the record along with "Parachutes".
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

^^ Why not? There aren't too many laid back songs around right now , Pearl Jam is an established act and there are always some calmer songs in the top20.

Soulseek? I'm lost - I'm getting nothing more than a 30 second clip. It's a shame there aren't more internet sites for this - it's also not on their myspace yet. Does anyone have a link?

Soulseek. It's a file-sharing program. You know?

Love this song. I would've preferred "Marker In The Sand" but this is still a good choice nonetheless.

This one sounds almost exactly like one of their songs from Riot Act. For the life of me, I can't remember what it was (maybe "Green Disease"?)
They're a little late to release it at this point, considering the bottom absolutely fell out of "Life Wasted" when stations decided it was time to continue playing all their gold singles 5 times a day. (Go figure on that one.)
I'll predict a peak around #26 here, but won't last anything longer than "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" did for U2. That's quite sad.
