I'd post this in the Your Opinion thread, but it's so much more visible here amongst all of you rockheads So I was wondering if you guys listen to any active, alt or mainstream rock stations online and if you do which ones are the best. I've been listening to: www.wlir.fm / www.wlir.com WLIR in Suffolk County and it seems like they have such a diverse selection. They play 80's, 90's, and as far as today's stuff, they play anything from Lacuna Coil to Outkast's Idlewild Blue, which is the #1 song on their station right now! And www.kdge.com Dallas' Edge is also pretty good to listen to as is www.kdje.com Little Rock's Edge. Just wanted to get other opinions for anything else online that may be worthy to listen to.

KROQ most definately!!! As a matter of fact I believe that it's the best radio station in the country! They should consider adding this to the XM radio line-up. Or have they?

I don't really listen to streaming stations anymore since they usually don't come in well here with the sometimes slow connection in my apartment, but at the top of my head, I remember WSUN (Tampa), KXRK (Salt Lake City), and KDGE (Dallas) were ones I used to listen to. WPBZ (West Palm), which I believe is one of the best stations on the Alternative format will be able to be streamed I believe in the next few months, but they're working on it.

WCCC (Hartford) and WJJO (Madison) are my favorites as far as playlists and programming go. THey both play a wide, great variety of active rock.

I'm sad and embarrassed to say that I don't listen to any streaming stations online. Do most stations broadcast over the web or is there a website where you can listen to virtually any station around the country?
I actually really like the St. Louis alternative stations because of their variety, as I am there usually about twice a year. During my brief stay in Los Angeles a couple summers ago, I listened to KROQ and I must say that I was very disappointed. Looking at their playlist, they tend to overplay certain songs and I can't believe "Lips of an Angel" is in their top 15. It's hard to believe they have so much influence on other stations' lists. KROQ has to be the most overrated station in the country, hands down.

Do most stations broadcast over the web or is there a website where you can listen to virtually any station around the country? Only certain stations are available to listen to over the web. A lot of Clear Channel ones are I noticed. www.radio-locator.com/ is a great site for a lot of info, and they have an option to listen to streaming stations charaterized by format.
