It's funny - I was wondering what the heck they were bleeping out until I looked up the lyrics yesterday. I can only guess most stations are just playing this version because it's what the record label sent to them. Indeed, this is the only instance I can think of where my station bleeps drug references. Maybe if people complained about the edits, they'd start playing the unedited version. Of course, my station also plays the edited version of Fall Out Boy's "Arms Race" while leaving "goddamn" in on other songs. But I suppose that might be a matter of how frequently the word is used.

#2 Active Rock and #2 Alternative. Good show, guys. :) It would've kicked ass if they actually had done a remake of J&TR. I suppose I'll listen to this sometime within the next month. Well, I did hear this, and it pisses all over Jesse & the Rippers, "To Be Loved", and pretty much anything else they've done except "Last Resort" and maybe "Broken Home". It's almost surely gonna be #1 on my personal chart in the next few weeks, and now that I think about it, I'm annoyed it took them 7 years to make a song like this.

I read just tonight actually that they're (finally ) going to be filming one soon. I'd just assumed there already was one and I just hadn't been aware of it.

I have to say I absolutely loved "Last Resort" and thought that "Between Angels and Insects" was a pretty solid single for hard rock.
Papa Roach was one of the first "big" bands I saw live. I saw them at a rock festival in Dallas, TX about 3-4 days after I graduated high school in 2002. They weren't that great as far as sound live, but they put on a great show -- damn near incited a riot. I remember big ass high powered water hoses having to be brought in to chill out the crowd.
Initially, I had pegged the band as a "one hit wonder," thinking that they had maybe their one big hit that everyone knew (Last Resort), then a couple of songs that did decently on rock/alternative...then they'd fade away with a second album that would totally flop or either do alright. IIRC, "Getting Away With Murder" went Gold. I thought they'd be completely cooked after that. Then the lead single from their next album tanked and I was convinced they were done. Well, they rebounded well and managed to take that album to Gold status, I believe.
Well, I thought *for sure* they'd tank hard with this current album. I don't know how many copies they've sold of the album, but it's nice to see that they've at least achieved big success on radio with this song. It's surprisingly good. I thought "Scars" was garbage and was expecting more of the same with this song based on the title alone. I'm happy to see that "Forever" isn't such a whiny song -- I think it's really solid and hope they can sell enough to make some money and be able to keep releasing major label albums.
In 2002, when I first saw them in concert, I got to meet all of the guys in Papa Roach and get their autographs. They all seemed to be really nice guys (albeit a little hyperactive). Despite thinking that they wouldn't last more than couple of albums, I'm happy to see them do well and will always root for them to have success.

I like "Forever"; but for some reason it sounds like something Hinder would record.

It's not Hinder if there's not a veiled (or unveiled) reference to sex.

Ohhh, Shocker! That Hinder comparison cut me to the bone.
I looooooooooooooove this song. I have played it a million times and just can't make myself tired of it. I love a good bass line, and opening this song with a great bass line hooked me right from the beginning.
And, that lure 'em to sleep with the verse, and then smack'em upside the head chorus is just a classic.
I hope this is a song that is played on recurrent for a long, long time. I was never a Papa Roach fan, but now I am kicking myself for missing their tour with 3 Doors Down a couple of years ago.

Two months later, it's finally done. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTd4AjDsn4sNot bad. If Fuse or MTV2 even bother with it this late, they'll probably have to have it slightly altered. So, the obvious question now is...why did they bother with one this late? It's already been to Pop radio...
