There is this song I heard on the new local alternative station (no dj's yet) and I have no clue what it is. I don't recognize the band but the song sounds somewhat familiar.
There is some (not a whole lot) rapping throughout the song and during the chorus he repeats several times "What is it" or it could be "What is this". Then in the end the song fades then a piano plays for awhile, maybe 20-30 seconds or so. If anyone could help that'd be great.

I love when Epic comes on every so often. I think it really inspired a lot of the rock/rap/funk bands of the past 15-20 years.

I realize they were kind of one-hit-wonders, or whatever (two, if you count "We Care a Lot" with Chuck Mosley), but I'd like to hear "From Out of Nowhere" or "Falling to Pieces," at least. Are "Midlife Crisis" and "Last Cup of Sorrow" really too much to ask for?

"Midlife Crisis" was actually a #1 alternative hit, and that track, "Falling to Pieces", and "A Small Victory" were at least moderate hits.

Be that as it may, but except for "Midlife Crisis" once this past year, I've never heard anything recurrent or gold by Faith No More on Alternative radio other than "Epic." Once in a blue moon, you'll get "We Care a Lot."

Once in a blue moon, you'll get "We Care a Lot." Those are the only two I really ever hear also of the three Alternative stations I listen to. I find it kind of amazing since there were quite a few singles that did very well back in the day. I don't get it. If radio can play every Nirvana single ever made, why not Faith No More?

I didn't even know that "Dumb" and "Rape Me" were NOT singles because radio still plays them so much. But then again, Nirvana album cuts were always kind of "cool" to play when I look back at the older charts. "On a Plain" scraped the alternative top 30 without a single release.

I agree with both of you. Faith No More probably haven't been influential to the level Seattle grunge was on today's alternative format, but Faith No More have influenced so many rap-metal musicians of today, from Korn on. "A Small Victory" dented the top 30 and "Midlife Crisis" went to #1 (albeit it was very short-lived, even at the time). I don't find any reason wrong with opening the vault to them. I never even hear them on '90s weekends .

Maybe that's it: because Mike Patton denies any "blame" for rap-metal and hates every one of those bands, for not "getting it." ;) He does have a point. None of the rap-metal bands even approach the integrity and wry sense of humor Faith No More had.

I was making a joke about why Faith No More's lesser catalog would be blacklisted. (They broke up around the time new-metal caught on). I wasn't referring just to modern day, I was referring to ever. They've probably never gotten preferred recurrent/gold treatment more than any other band with a big hit or two under their belts.

Well, 12 weeks for a 30-position chart was average at the time, considering it was a full year before SoundScan was used on modern rock. "A Small Victory" got to #11, which was much more than merely "denting" the chart. Although both songs were only minor hits on the other rock chart.

Wait, there's more!
I heard some more songs about a week ago and one of them has the lyrics "Wake up to the sun" in the chorus, unfortunately I don't remember much else from it.
Another song I heard is awfully familiar sounding, probably 90's (maybe Canadian) and in the verses there is some light rapping/talking and in the chorus there are alot woo-hoos. Some other lyrics include "Pain...feed me"
