I've always thought shoegazing was the worst possible name for a musical genre ever.

I've always thought shoegazing was the worst possible name for a musical genre ever. Yeah, but I can't imagine another way to descrive music like My Bloody Valentine. Swirly Rock? ???

"wall of guitars", etc. haha
I think shoegaze is a cute term. And it's definitely one of my favorite styles.

Shoegazer works for me. Bless the wacky British press that came up with it.

It's the band that stares at their shoes. The people listening to it are too depressed/stoned/out of sorts to do much else but stand there & take in the intensity like a human feedback buffer. I prefer to listen to shoegaze lying down. But, well, I'm listening to Slowdive right now, sitting in this chair.
