This band is probably my least favorite of the genre, but neither can I deny the appeal of "Everyday I Love You Less And Less" and "I Predict A Riot". Anyway, this goes for adds on January 29th as the first single from their follow-up to Employment.

I can't wait for this.
Supposedly, they've employed quite a shift in styles.
And anyway, they aren't anything like the other "post-punk" acts if you really listen to them. They are much more like The Jam, Blur, and other "mod-pop" acts than the Josef K or Gang of Four doppelgangers.

Supposedly, they've employed quite a shift in styles. Thank the Lord. I loathed "I Predict A Riot" (and their second single) when they were out and still do to this day. Don't they dress in drag onstage and act like transexuals? OK, KRBZ embellishes at times...but....Ugh, I can't associate that with good music (no offense to any of you transvestite hookers out there).

You must be thinking of some other act.
I miss when NIN used to do that.
I want Trent ram Jeordie in the ass with his microphone again. :'(

It's less pompous than previous material, and maybe a little less forceful in it's hooks, but still a very engaging track. You can hear it here. They sound like they've let their hair down a bit.

The album comes out the end of March. I expect this will be quite a hit by then. They have plenty of time to promote it.

This has slowed down considerably over the last few days , hopefully it picks back up soon. There's no real reason why alt radio should play crap like Daughtry and let this one flop.

I like the song a lot, and agree that it deserves to be an Alt hit.

the video is sweet, and the song is real grower I'm sure it will be one of The Hits of '07 in the UK I'd like to see it make Top 30 here

It's every bit as catchy as that Modest Mouse track that's exploded onto the scene. Before "Ruby" even charted, I sarcastically felt as if that should at least be worth a top 30 showing, but now that it appears it'll actually get there, hopefully it'll become a sleeper hit with some longevity.

I love this now. It didn't hit me immediately, but now I can't get it out of my head.

While Kaiser Chiefs don't do much for me based on the two tracks I've heard, it still pisses me off when in a recent issue, Rolling Stone cut into them while describing their love for another similar band's new single, referring back to 2005: ("Wasn't there some band called the Kaiser Thiefs?")
And in one of the more current issues, they totally gush over "Ruby." (Not that it's even necessarily the same writer.) Oh what, now that they actually have new material and it's apparently really good, now all of a sudden they're awesome again?

RS gave Employment 4 stars & rated as one of the best releases of 2005. Like you said, it was probably just a different writer. But the consumer standpoint, it does seem inconsistent.

It is safe to predict, with as much certainty that the sun will rise tomorrow, that this will be the #1 Song in the UK next week. :)
Top 35 on Alternative, and growing.

The album already leaked onto the networks a week ago; it's very different than their last album, and a lot heavier sounding than their first one.

Ok, so I heard this song for the first time on WPBZ yesterday while driving back home to South Florida. I've never really liked any of their songs previously, although I thought I Predict a Riot was mediocre at best, but I'm glad to say I like this song and the Kaiser Chiefs have a new fan. ::unenthusiastic yay:: BTW, the video for this is pretty damn interesting.

After their "I Predict A Riot", I quickly lost interest, but I was pleasantly surprised that this single was that good.

I think I like this album a lot more than the last one. I don't know why, I think the songs are just better written and easier to swallow.

Another nice move up to #22 this week, although there's a massive separation between top 20 and everything else right now, so if it gets much higher, it may be awhile.
