It was criminal how quickly Eve 6 was depantsed and left by the curbside, as there were some nice rock-ready singles on their last album before their break-up. Hopefully something becomes of their new band The Sugi Tap, though I'm not a huge fan of their new, softer music. I was unaware Eve 6 even broke up. They had some ponderous lyrics, in my opinion, though I did like a few of their tunes. I feel American Hi-Fi and SR-71 got exactly what they deserved, although I'd take some of the populartiy from "Flavour of the Weak" and give it to "Another Perfect Day." Aside from that their singles have been pretty bogus. SR-71, career-wise, appeared to be trend riders. The first album was (power-)pop-punk, and I never heard anything other than "Tomorrow," but that sounded like a straight-up Linkin Park song. I loved Marvelous 3's singles, but I doubt I'd be into a full album of theirs. Hmm...well, it came out in 2001, so I don't know about that...

I liked American Hi-Fi more with the first album. Now they're more like a straight-up pop band. It does still burn me though that Bowling For Soup scored a hit off of SR-71's "1985". They deserved to have that hit. And I'm still waiting for Mitch Allan to get off his ass and finish his solo album that's been in the works for the past couple of years.

The first album was (power-)pop-punk, and I never heard anything other than "Tomorrow," but that sounded like a straight-up Linkin Park song. The singles were arguably the weakest tracks for both SR-71 and American Hi-Fi on their respective albums. American Hi-Fi in particular were really railroaded by "Flavor of the Weak" and I think that they, SR-71 and Bowling for Soup were passed off as rock sideshow acts long before they had a chance to showcase their music (ie. "Another Perfect Day"). Bowling for Soup has done some excellent and serious rock ballads that have been completely negated. I'll just go back into my little hidey-hole now . I was thinking of a different album when I started writing that sentence, but I stand by the all-time awesomeness of "Comfort Eagle." While I'm on it, I'm glad we got the good part of The Barenaked Ladies, and gave the US the old and busted version. Gordon was easily their best work, and it took another decade for them to get nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy. Them and Moxy Fruvous were the shiat in the early 90s in the cold North.

From what I understand, about 2/3 of the tracks are taken from the last SR-71 album Here We Go Again. Keeping that in mind, I don't know what is taking so long. I heard he was producing some of Daughtry's album, but then again, so was everyone apparently.
