You Done...
will be the first single off of their Roadrunner Records debut album "The Heart of Everything". There's no exact add date or release date for the album yet although reports say March.
Sounds pretty good from what I hear...although, it's safe to say that it's on the Evanescence/Lacuna Coil tip that has been around for three years already so it's hard to say how this song is going to do.

For all of Roadrunner's support of the metal community, they sure seem eager to ride the trends (and subsequently dump them like rotten garbage). I mean, Black Stone Cherry very easily rides Shinedown's coattails; they're trying to resuscitate the career of the New York Dolls; Dresden Dolls seems to ride the indie trend; and they just signed CKY recently, which I guess is their outlet back into the punk community. Plus last year they added Hatebreed and BLS, both bands "of the moment", and Megadeth, a living legend.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm not surprised. The only thing that vaguely interests me about this is Keith Caputo.

Too bad Faktion was a victim of that "of the moment" phase

Oh well, Faktion was just Roadrunner's attempt to get another Nickelback or Theory, just like they tried with Thornley.
As for Faktion, they're supposed to be working on a new album right now. Jay from Tunelab was trying to get them a showcase for some other labels, but I don't know if that ever came to frution or not.

I'm interested in hearing this . WT have been around for a long time and I thought their album "Mother Earth" was quite good. They've been pretty successful in western europe. I like them a little better than Nightwish and Lacuna Coil.

I'm sorry, but this song is not good at all. I can't believe people were even comparing this to "Bring Me To Life." At least it was catchy for a while. I agree with Tortuga. They are trying to sellout, but they are doing a horrible job at it.

Why is this the first time I've ever heard of Within Temptation? From the comparisons to Nightwish, Lacuna Coil and "Bring Me to Life," I gather they're a female-fronted hard rock band. Why, then, is the singer for a New York hardcore-ish band a featured vocalist on one of their songs? From my admittedly limited understanding, on paper this makes no sense.

^^ Well it makes sense if you've listened to one of his solo albums , he has definitely moved away from the LOA sound.

I've never thought of Life Of Agony as being hardcore. They've always sounded like a precursor to nu-metal to me at least.

Likely a label obligation, kind of like Paul McCoy for Bring Me to Life. They could have, in all likelyhood, gone for somebody else to do the vocals, but they probably wanted to keep it in the label.

I don't see why, since Life Of Agony are not on Roadrunner anymore and haven't been for a while now.

Yeah, my knowledge of them is too limited to really know the ins and outs of their particular style of hard rock, but that's why I put the "-ish" on there. The little I'd heard from them was melodic hard rock, but they have some tangential ties (not to mention the clothes and the thick Brooklyn accents) that led me to believe there was some old-school NYHC in them.

One of their most popular songs, "Stand My Ground", will see an American release as a bonus track on this upcoming album. The song has been played on teasers for the movie "Blood and Chocolate".

The album version of WHYD is not anybetter than the other version but I think it's worst version IMO since it has this pause and some random screeching, they should have put the American version in the album than that and Blue Eyes should have been in the album rather than Final Destination, FD sounds like a generic hard rock song but it's still is a good song but the best song on the album is The Cross and Hand of Sorrow.

i really have no idea what to expect from this, it could be a hit, or a flop... what kind of label will be pushing this one? and what are your predictions. its very Bring me To Life-ish, so i wonder. i guess there is plenty of multi-format potential here.

The kind of label that will be pushing it is Roadrunner. Perhaps you've heard of them.

You've got to wonder whether Within Temptation or Nightwish would get the bigger push from the label.

Within Temptation is better in my somewhat unbiased opinion. Roadrunner, should be good then.
