www.radioandrecords.com/Newsroom/2005_10_03/standardssilenced.aspMonday, Oct. 3, 2005 Standards Silenced In Las Vegas As KJUL Goes Country Beasley's longtime Adult Standards KJUL/Las Vegas played its final song just before noon today, as Frank Sinatra's "My Way" gave way to a format flip to Country, as "The Coyote." Toby Keith's "How Do You Like Me Now?!" was the first song for The Coyote, and the station is spinning 10,000 songs in a row as part of its launch. The station's programming will "lean hard on the core artists," says consultant Joel Raab, who is directing the search for a new PD. Ironically, KJUL on Sept. 22 received the Adult Standards Station of the Year honor at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards. KJUL will now compete directly against Clear Channel's market-leading Country KWNR. From me: KJUL was fifth in the 12+ ratings.

We just lost our Adult Standards station of nearly 10 years as they switched to Classic Country a couple of months ago. I miss them, no I'm not 50 years old either.
