o... let me apoligize up front on behalf of ska music...
I'm sorry there's no screaming I'm sorry if it actually take some skills to play it I'm sorry if it makes people happy, cuz i know how people hate to be happy and... I'm sorry if you people are so close minded not to take advantage of all types of music, weather it's "cool" or not.
And don't try to tell me that i'm not open minded... you can find almost every type of music in my collection..
...so bite me... and i mean that sincerely

Plz. The first & second waves of ska are all you need. British Two-Tone particularly is definitive. Third wave ska revivalists are essentially in the business of self-parody.

I wish ska was still sort of in the mainstream as it was in the late 90s. I grew up on bands like Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Mighty Mighty Bosstones (I know they're no more), Goldfinger, the list could go on... I'll give credit to a line by penance that I agree with that he said yesterday "Ska is basically punk with horns.", so with that statement being said I don't understand how these musical trends just die out in a given day. I guess ska is still known in some areas, as when I'm back home in South Florida listening to WPBZ, they do play all those bands above quite frequently through regular programming. Hell, Reel Big Fish came to their Buzz Bake Sale concert last December, and they had one of the biggest crowds of all the bands on the second stage.

Reel Big Fish is a funny band. That's really all I have to say on the subject.
Okay, well wait. I'll explain why they're funny. When they performed, this is how the middle of their set went.
"Here's a new song off of our live album! It's called S.R.!"
(plays S.R.)
"Here's a new song off of our live album! It's called S.R.!"
(plays slow version of S.R.)
"Here's a new song off of our live album! It's called S.R.!"
(plays fast version of S.R.)
"Do you get it yet? It's the same song! Here's a new song off of our live album! It's called S.R.!"
(plays country version of S.R.)
"Here's a new song off of our live album! It's called S.R.!"
(plays metal version of S.R.)
"Get it? It's the same song! Here's a new song off of our live album! It's called S.R.!"
(plays weird version of S.R.)
"Hey, here's a new song off of our live album! It's called BEER!"
(plays Beer)
Funny fucks.
