On March 5th, Mushroomhead is just pretending that this will do something on alternative.
I like the band, but their new album seems far too dense to really do well in a mainstream setting. Simple Survival was a good attempt but did nothing, thus I don't see why they're bothering to release a second single.
It's a shame that XIII, which was way more geared toward a wide audience, didn't do anywhere near what it should have. That was an amazingly solid album.

great band in particular when they do similar to Mr.bungle/patton style.. when they use growl and do songs in more nu metal style they aren't so original.

XIII was, by far, my most valued album.
The past live shows I've seen featuring Mushroomhead have been amazing. Too bad I haven't seen them live without Jason Popson, yet. I thought their new vocalist (Waylon) wasn't that great for a while but now I'm alright with him. I don't think anyone can or will replace the past vocals of Popson.
This song is alright with me but I can't imagine a lot of stations spinning it all that much. I think I've heard it once or twice on one of my local stations.

I still don't know which singer got replaced. The growly one or the singer-singer? I know one of them did, but the voices still sound the same to me. Is that bad?

It's noticeable to the hardcore fans that keep up with the band and their transitions (which there have been many). The radio listening fans more than likely won't be able to tell the difference. I'd have to say I really thought JMANN had the best "death metal" voice talent (I have no idea what genre they're in anymore). I personally can't stand growling so this to me is by no means to the extreme with the whole growling vocals. I like to understand most of what the vocalist is trying to say then none of it. Ex-Lead Vocalist - Jason Popson 1993 - 2005 Waylon Waylon was brought in because he actually sounds like the ex-vocalist so it's by no means bad if anyone can't really tell the difference.

So.......he was the growler.......right? Is that what I'm supposed to take away from this? You said he has the best death metal vocals, so I'm assuming he's the growler.

Y'know, I figured he was the one who got replaced, but I had to be sure. Thanks.

Wow, he called you "sir." Dude, you should be honored. Okay, I'll justify this. I never feel honored when people call me sir. In fact, any time I stop to think about it, I feel stupid about it, cause I'm not a sir, I'm just a stupid kid who looks like a sir. And I think it'll stay that way until the day I die. Cause y'know, when you get right down to it, aren't we all just stupid kids at heart, trying our best to be the age we think we should be? Eh, I hate to get philosophical here. I apologize.

I use "sir" sometimes to show respect regardless of age.
I just hate it when people call everyone "kid" when half the people they say it to are older than themselves. Just p's me off!
Alright. I'm done now.
