Awesome. They chose my first choice for a second single. I don't even remember the last time that happened.

Crap. They didn't choose my first choice for a second single. I've lost track of how many times that's happened.

A band like Fall Out Boy is probably going to do well no matter what they choose. It's not like fans really have control over it unless its a rare occasion.

I thought it would be "Thriller" since they have performed that one a lot on TV shows. But its probably just the "Our Lawyers Made Us Change The Name of this Song" of this album.

I think "Thriller" is the third.

If "The Take Over, The Break's Over" is not the third single, there is no God.

If "The Take Over, The Break's Over" is not the third single, there is no God. Yeah, so for once me and penance fully agree on something. That song gets strangely epic by the end, I like it.

This is awful. It sounds like a mix between a boy band and their version of "What's This". The first 20 seconds or so are the cheesiest I've heard in a while.

Tell me they're joking.
Please tell me they're joking.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fall Out Boy is truly giving a part of themselves to fans on the upcoming Honda Civic Tour, as the band will use their own blood in a series of promotional posters which they will give away to fans. A winner will be chosen in each city. Explaining the idea, bassist Pete Wentz told NME.com, "We're going to be running a series of contests. One is an ode to KISS. My brother is going to make 45 prints based on images from our record. Each will be hand-numbered and individually made. In addition, all prints will have a mixture of each member of the band's blood in it." Wentz said that the blood contest would serve to shed some light on the much-needed support for blood drives.

Ew, Pete's blood. He probably has some kind of disease.

they are like the new Third Eye Blind, with less amount of hits, and even more disrespected from their original format. YIKES. Times look bad for MT-Vemo.

I'm not sure what you mean by this in relation to both bands. Disrespected by who? If you mean alternative for Third Eye Blind, then yeah, that's true, but alternative has treated Fall Out Boy nothing but well.

Yikes my ass. and Third Eye Blind disrespected? Not at all. Its bullshit if you focus on radio play to determine that.

Three Top 10 hits and this one may hit Top 30. You won't hear from F.O.B. ever again on this format, trust me, and yes, the Alternative format as far as Third Eye Blind. Great band, Alternative jumped to NuMetal though.

Yikes my ass. and Third Eye Blind disrespected? Not at all. Its bulls**t if you focus on radio play to determine that. You're determined by Tortilla Play. How many tortillas have been spinned today? You are such a thirteen-gon, as well as a tortilla.

Great band, Alternative jumped to NuMetal though. "Sixteen Candles" didn't do well because it was not a great single choice, and the fact that "Arms Race" did do well should be a testament to that being the case. "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs", for right now, is #30 and climbing. It did only hit the charts a month ago, and I don't expect a meteoric rise for every single that comes down the pike, even from a band that's currently hot like Fall Out Boy. IIRC, Papa Roach's "Forever", Incubus' "Dig", and Muse's "Starlight" were all slow burners, and look where they are now. The difference between Third Eye Blind and Fall Out Boy is that when radio ditched 3EB, they weren't ditching 3EB, they were ditching EVERYBODY in that genre. That meant Smash Mouth, Sister Hazel, the Goo Goo Dolls, Better Than Ezra, Collective Soul, Soul Asylum, Matchbox Twenty, Everclear, Counting Crows, and anyone else who had a hit on alternative in the late 90s that wasn't a pop-punk band or a precursor to the nu-metal boom. There are no signs that radio is pushing away from punk, emo, or screamo style bands. The continued success of My Chemical Romance, Rise Against, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and Buckcherry currently on the format and the fact that the new Used single is rocketing up fast should cement this. There are other bands I could mention that have done well on the charts in recent months, but the point is that you're looking at one single out of five that is taking a little more time than usual to catch on and suggesting that radio is therefore rallying against Fall Out Boy. I have seen no evidence that this is true.
