I knew it. Great choice.

I just realized that I need to listen to this album more since besides Oh! Gravity (song), I hardly remember what anything else sounds like and I had to go re-listen to it to comment on here. I was hoping for American Dream, but this would probably be my second choice, so I'm satisfied enough with the decision. I'm hoping it does something, because their first single kind of bombed and I don't believe the album is doing very well. It's quite a shame.

Someone from Arrested Development, or... Arrested Development? I listened to the album a week or so ago, but only once, so I don't remember all the songs by heart. But I don't think anything on the CD will do well. What they need to do is wait until mid-2008, release a greatest hits CD (this is their 6th album), and release "Politicians" (from Nothing Is Sound) as the single. I think it's their only shot to get back on the format again.

It's a good song, but I fail to see how it would possibly affect their performance on alternative. Chances are it would tank just like everything else.

It's a good song, but I fail to see how it would possibly affect their performance on alternative. Chances are it would tank just like everything else. 1) It's not poppy like "We Are One Tonight" and (to a lesser extent) "Oh! Gravity", which both flopped. 2) It would be just in time for the presidential elections. (I guess there are 2 sides to this, and 1 side thinks this would be a gimmick. That may very well be true, but it wouldn't be as if they had anything to lose.) And I have no idea what you mean by "betraying my love of that song".

I'm saying that you obviously like that song to the point where it's deluding you.

I'm saying that you obviously like that song to the point where it's deluding you. Right, because you can tell from my grand total of two (now three) posts that make reference to the song. What if I told you it wasn't even my favorite song on the album?

Hm. I knew that Politicians had been mentioned several times before in previous Switchfoot threads by someone as their choice for a single and I thought I remembered it being you, but upon running a search I find that it was actually SunnyScorpio. I apologize.

See my posts work better if you realize that I thought you were obsessing.

I apologize. Well to be exact, I said that "Lonely Nation" should have been released as the second single in that that song and "Politicians" were the only two tracks from the album that could likely help them maintain ground at Alternative a little longer because of their thematic and musical grit. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Yes, well, the point is moot now, I guess.

See my posts work better if you realize that I thought you were obsessing. Heh... thanks for the mea culpa. But even if that had been me who made those other posts, I wouldn't have been obsessing nearly as much as many, many folks in... well, almost any 50-page plus thread in the Pop forum or Music News.

Someone from Arrested Development, or... Arrested Development? Aw, you motherfucker, I was gonna make that joke! The only guy's name I remember off the top of my head is Speech (the guy in front).
