Any chance that this song is going to be pushed at alternative at all. The Cranberries were mainstays of alternative radio in the mid 90s with several top 10 hits including #1s in Zombie and Salvation. The song should fit the alternative definition. However its not heavy and its a woman so those are two strikes against it. It was the most added at Triple AAA this week but it would be nice to get some exposure at a broader format Heres the link to the song and video on youtube for anyone who hasnt heard it yet and wants to check it out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lxc3O4mQV74

The Cranberries have pretty much been blacklisted at Alternative, and besides, solo acts tend to do poorly at the format.

thats something I cant understand...why were they "blacklisted" from alternative? It was like one day they were darlings and the next day nothing....I mean "Zombie" cant even get played on the radio even when they do are doing 90s weekends!
"Promises" did reach the top 15 at alternative when "Bury the Hatchet" was released in 1999 but the following cd's 3 singles were totally ignored.
Ive heard some of the tracks on this forthcoming cd and there are some harder tracks. The supposed 2nd single "When We Were Young" would seem to be a likely choice to send to alternative as it is very reminiscient of the harder Cranberries' songs.

The only songs from The Cranberries I still hear today are Zombie and Salvation periodically on WPBZ. They were actually the first band I ever saw in concert back in the summer of '99 I believe with Collective Soul.

Yes, but "Promises" had no staying power and they didn't chart ever again. And that was eight years ago. I mean "Zombie" cant even get played on the radio even when they do are doing 90s weekends! My local station played "Zombie" Wednesday morning.

I hear "Zombie" and "Salvation" once in a while, but all in all, this band really doesn't have the strong presence on Alternative that they used to have.

I hear "Dreams" and "Linger" all too often on alternative radio, as well as just about every single inoffensive Muzak channel in existance. Nothing else from the cranberries, ever.
