Submersed just got back the mixes for their second album and follow-up to 2004's In Due Time. The album should be released sometime this fall through Wind-Up records, and now it seems like they're trying to decide on the first single.
If you go to Ratethemusic, there's a New Music Project currently up where you can hear two new songs from the album: "Feel The Change", which sounds like a Linkin Parkish type rock song, and "Better Think Again", which is a heavier number with some slight rapping a'la Saliva. Even though it does not say that these songs are by Submersed, it IS Submersed. So basically, go make your choice if you want to vote. I picked "Feel The Change".
Final Tracklisting For Immortal Verses 01. "Better Think Again" 02. "Feel The Change" 03. "Rewind" 04. "Answers" 05. "Over Now" 06. "Wonder" 07. "The Rescue" 08. "Sarah And Johnny" 09. "Everything" 10. "We All Make Mistakes" 11. "At First Sight" 12. "Life Without You"
B-Sides 13. "An Artist's Prayer" 14. "Lonely Road"

I don't know why they can never tell the person taking the survey who the band is. Does anyone who uses RateTheMusic.com know who that band was that there was a survey about a few weeks ago? Penance and I have been trying to figure out what band it was since they sounded damn good.
Anyway, I thought Feel The Change sounded pretty generic, but good nevertheless. I thought Better Think Again was a better choice if they're deciding on what to choose as a single since it seemed to flow better with a variety of sounds to make it a little more catchy. Overall, I'm impressed with both songs, and it should be a good upcoming album if these are any indications.

Actually I thought the other way around. I think "Better Think Again" is too much a standard heavy song to do well except on active, and maybe not then. "Feel The Change" is a straightforwarrd melodic and would fit on both formats and I think that since it sounds like LP, it could possibly cash in on that kind of sound.

Band confirmed that the album is to be called Immortal Verses and will have twelve tracks on it, so two of the ones I mentioned got the chop.

Oh BTW, you can go on www.submersedband.com and download live and acoustic stuff, including my personal favorite, the instrumental "The Rescue". :)

They just announced that the first single off of the album is Better Think Again. The song goes for adds in July-ish.

A two minute clip of the song is on their main website now. I don't know why, but this reminds me of Saliva for some reason.

Heard it in full on Sirius' Octane and it sounds f**king wicked!
It's very repetitive, but I don't mind.

Does anybody know what Submersed's name was before they joined Wind-up? It was... Submursed! You can listen and download three of their early demos, all of which eventually became songs on their first album. Just do yourself a favor and don't visit the board

This actually had a pretty decent add week this past week. Wind-up is having a really good year on radio in comparison to years past. 12 Stones has their biggest hit, Finger Eleven has their biggest hit...maybe Submersed will follow suit. Hollow did pretty well from what I remember...just out of the top 10 on Active IIRC.

I thought the singles from the self-titled did better than where "Lie To Me" is right now. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I thought the singles from the self-titled did better than where "Lie To Me" is right now. Correct me if I'm wrong. Yeah, so far I think "Broken" is still the bigger hit. Actually, I'd say Paul McCoy's appearance on "Bring Me to Life" raised 12 Stones' profile more than any of their singles.

According to Wikipedia: (so take it from what the source is) 12 Stones only two singles to hit the Top 50 on Active Rock are "Far Away" peaking at #38 and now "Lie To Me" currently at #23. However, I do remember "Broken" getting some decent exposure, so I wonder if that info is correct.

You know that probably the only reason Wikipedia says that is because nobody has the information available with which to fill in the blanks, right?
Remember that it's a user-created encyclopedia. Just because the information isn't there, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Just because the information isn't there, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Exactly. That's why I noted the "take it from what the source is." If I'm bored sometime today or this week at work, I'll try to figure out those blanks.

I was a semi-big 12 stones fan when "Broken" hit the radio, and I don't have any recollection of it charting. My local station played it quite a bit and it seems like it did get exposure around the country, so it probably just missed the top 40. The wikipedia article I see shows their positions on billboard mainstream rock, not on R&R or mediabase's active rock chart. I would guess that "Broken" broke the top 50, but I know that it did not chart on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks.

Allmusic.com only has "Far Away" (from 2004's Potter's Field, after "BMTL") and "Lie to Me". Wow, I can't believe that.
Other singles from 12 Stones' first album include "The Way I Feel" and "Crash".

Yeah, I mean, the way I recall, the self-titled was close to going gold, or at least according to Wind-Up it was. How could it do that without any charting singles? Doesn't make any sense.

hey...the deftones album "Adrenaline" went gold without any charting singles. It was a different era, but it shows that it is possible.

So the album leaked, or at least something approximating the album, and it's really really good. The problem is that the tracks have been misnamed and since the tracklisting also went through a couple of changes, I have no idea if this is the final album or not. Most tracks have been easy to identify, but some have not. Also, The Rescue is on this, and I'm not sure if The Rescue is on the final version anymore. It might have changed to An Artist's Prayer, which originally was to be left off the album but is now back on. I'm so confused.

Price of Fame had never been on the actual advance. It was The Rescue and they used the original tracklisting apart from An Artist's Prayer was in the tracklisting instead of Everything. So The Rescue, which had been on, was taken off.
Considering "E-Rock" Eric Friedman isn't there, it's actually a decent album.
I don't like that people are dismissing it just 'cause it's soft. A good song is a good song. I like BTA, Feel the Change, An Artist's Prayer, At First Sight, Rewind, and Answers.
I'll go so far as to say that some of the songs on this album are better than In Due Time...but In Due Time...at least for now is the better one overall.

I've often felt that sometimes, that a follow-up album can have better songs than those on the previous release but the previous one still being the better album on the whole.
