You people are insane. This album is so amazing. It is one of the best albums I have ever listened to in my life, and I've heard like a thousand. i'm just curious...how old are you? And Puddle of Mudd is his #1 song. Welcome to 2002, DJ General.

So you're agreeing with me then? lol...but does anyone else feel like the swearing on this record feels forced? Absolutely! They made such awesome music before without cursing and they said they wanted to make songs with meaning and could do so without it, but now they do and it sounds really stupid. It's a shame.

Any magazine that not only gives Joanna Newsom's Ys two stars, but flaunts the fact that they only gave it two stars demonstrates how out of touch they really are in regards to creative and avant garde music. Back in February I heard "Monkey & Bear" (not having any idea who/what it was) on the PA at the club I work at and was amazed by it. (A Shins fan who'd been chatting with me told me what it was.) Later, I tried to look back through my issues of Rolling Stone at about the time they would have reviewed it and never saw it. (I don't think I'd ever heard of her at the time, so I likely just skipped that review.) Do you remember what issue that was? And when were they flaunting the two-stars they gave it? Simultaneously, or was it later? Because I've never seen that either. I don't hear it in "Lying From You" at all. Personally, I've always thought the bridge of "Faint" was forced, and it was just a politer version of the bridge in "One Step Closer:" "No/Hear me out now/You're gonna listen to me like it or not/Right now" vs. "Shut up when I'm talking to you." It's not like they went overboard with it. So if that's what they wanted to do with the songwriting, then I really don't have a problem with it. Agree with this, plus, Mike's cursing on the Fort Minor record and the casual swearing on the Jay-Z mash-up EP eased the transition. I'm sure I'll read an explanation in some magazine of mine, albeit belatedly because I'm always way behind because I subscribe to four.

I think Leave Out All The Rest will be huge on pop radio.
Bleed it Out is the default song played on their myspace so I think it's the next single for sure.

I don't hear it in "Lying From You" at all. I was mostly referring to the overabundant screaming. Personally, I've always thought the bridge of "Faint" was forced, and it was just a politer version of the bridge in "One Step Closer:" "No/Hear me out now/You're gonna listen to me like it or not/Right now" vs. "Shut up when I'm talking to you." I've always thought that all of "Faint" felt forced.

I don't know, there's screaming in a lot of their songs. With that kind of reasoning, you could call it "Papercut" Pt. 2 or "Crawling" Pt. 2. I don't think screaming is really a suitable barometer.

Is it just me, or does "Leave Out All The Rest" sound like a boy band song to anyone else? Like it could be off the last Backstreet Boys album (you know, where they went "rock" by adding guitars). Don't get me wrong, its a great song and hopefully it's the next single, but the first time I heard it I was taken aback.

I've always thought that all of "Faint" felt forced. Ha ha. I'm sure I've said this somewhere before, but when the intro of "Faint" came on earlier this year, I felt it was perfect for a screwed & chopped experiment and wondered why no one has screwed & chopped Linkin Park before. If I knew how to do it, I'd try it out myself.

Because of that, it should be a future single for Pop. They should send a different one for the rock formats though.

According to Billboard, the next two singles from Minutes To Midnight will be Given Up & Shadow Of The Day. That's what it shows in the first post, but it has the first one up going for adds in August. They would need to have one out for the summer I would assume. Maybe Bleed It Out is going to be a silent single.

According to Billboard, the next two singles from Minutes To Midnight will be Given Up & Shadow Of The Day. It might just make sense to let "Bleed It Out" be the album's second single, given its strong play as an album track. However, "Given Up" should also satisfy their core fanbase, as I've heard widely it is one of few tracks on the album that their more nu-metal faction of fans find particularly favorable. Perhaps they should also consider a twin single release once they begin pushing the third single, perhaps "Shadow Of The Day" or "Leave Out All The Rest" to Top 40 and Hot AC, and one of the few heavier tracks to Alternative/Active Rock/Rock. Sincerely, Noah Eaton
