You can actually listen to the single right now...sort of if you can win the game here: www.atreyugame.comNice concept :) I believe this marks their Hollywood Records debut.

I did this a couple days ago. I thought I got it (awesome tune, by the way), but they're supposed to tell you when you get it right. I couldn't figure out where I went wrong, especially since some of the segment transitions flow naturally, while others are noticeable, yet still obviously correct. :( I'd already spent too long on it for one sitting, so I gave up. I hope to have a successful run eventually.

I love the concept for the game, but I got in place what are obviously supposed to be the first and last pieces and it doesn't say I'm making any progress. Then I look at the high scores and find out two people have gotten all 20 segments correctly into place in 21 seconds, twice, and yeah, that's just too much work.
I am excited that they have another album on its way already and hopefully they can put more than nine freakin' tracks on it this time that'll last at least 40 minutes.

Gawwwwd. Well I did it. Unfortunately I spent more time on it than I'd probably spend listening to the whole album.

Damn that game took forever and I feel like a loser rather than victorious haha...but I gotta hand it to them, I've definately got the song stuck in my head now. Catchy as hell.

Since it allows you more than one completion entry (judging by the high score list), I imagine these kids are figuring it out, then methodically detailing which piece went where and clicking "restart game" and dragging those bits in place as quickly as possible. 21 seconds is probably maximum efficiency then. (This all renders the contest aspect hopelessly flawed, then, doesn't it.)

Well if people have multiple phenomenal scores, they've gotta be cheating somehow.

Now I see the top performance has shrunk to a mere 15 seconds. I just finished it in 10,000 minutes and 9 seconds (I was hoping that after 9,999 it'd roll over back to zero, but no dice). It said, "Congratulations! You completed the song in 10000:09. Unfortunately, that isn't good enough to make it onto the high score board. Try again!"

The album title is just Lead Sails Paper Anchor. It has the following tracklisting. 11 tracks. That's as many as The Curse had if you knock off the intro and the interlude. Hopefully it'll break 40 minutes. 01 - "Doomsday" (Hot Transplants remake!) 02 - "Honor" 03 - "Falling Down" 04 - "Becoming the Bull" 05 - "Slow Burn" (Hot David Bowie remake!) 06 - "Two Become One" (Hot Spice Girls remake!) 07 - "No One Cares" 08 - "Can't Happen Here" 09 - "Lose it" 10 - "Blow" 11 - "Lead Sails (and a Paper Anchor)"
I spent another good hour on the game. At about the 40 minute mark I had 3/4 of the progress bar with one segment left. I put it just about everywhere to no avail. Finally at about the hour mark, I said "F**k this" and took their hint. It turns out the segment where Alex stutters the D, which I had positioned toward the end, actually belonged in the middle around the second chorus. That was my primary mistake both times I played, apparently.
I like how when the full song streams, they can make it flow seamlessly with no noticeable breaks whatsoever and how the progress cursor doesn't quite match up with the waveforms. [/sarcasm]
And if people are assembling the whole song in 15 seconds and it re-scrambles the pieces every time, then they've gotta be rigging it somehow. I barely put the first and last pieces up before 9 seconds had already gone by. And those are the two you can tell by sight.

This song is freakin' awesome. I'm not a big Atreyu fan, but the riff and drums in this song are killer catchy.

Blow sounds like a really good followup. Ugh, live, that sounded like cock-rock "sellout" crapola. (Heck, MTV.com even said Alex sounded like Vince Neil on that one.) The gf and I didn't say a word as they played it, but both agreed that one was disappointing, while the other new one, "Doomsday" was a peach. Heck, later, we ran into a 40-ish couple that are friends of mine, having no idea how much Atreyu they knew and the wife also thought "Doomsday" was far superior to "Blow."

I'm not saying that Doomsday isn't the better song...I just think that Blow is the better followup. If anything, it's catchier than Becoming the Bull, and that's my favorite song.

Studies show that rocking out is the single greatest cause of motor vehicle accidents in the United States. So be careful.

I agree with ChrisChrisChris, Blow is a really good song and would be a good followup. Well, it's not a bad song, but it's certainly the dumbest song on the record. It's uber-catchy and unfortunately, I can totally see it being the next single. Problem is, doing that potentially allows the mainstream to mistakenly lump them in with Buckcherry (Josh Todd actually does backup vocals on this song ), Hinder, Papa Roach and the modern cock-rock bands, when that's the only song on the record that sounds like that and Atreyu have more depth to them than that. More than anything, I'd hate to see Atreyu fall in as touring partners with any of those groups, like Eighteen Visions did. Not to mention the horrendous edit they'd have to make just to put this song on the radio. I forgot to give my thoughts on the album. It met my expectations and probably exceeded them a little bit, even. Good Charlotte finally has competition for "album of the year." (Not that I expected Good Charlotte to end up with that title by December anyway.) It's a lot fresher and definitely more diverse than any of their previous records. And with one exception, none of the songs alienated me at all. (The one that did was "Falling Down," which unfortunately sounds very much like something that The Used could have had on their most recent album, what with the shuffle rhythm and horns on it. Both records were produced by John Feldmann. Go figure. ) Some things of note: I especially like the harmonies of the backup vocals in the chorus of "Doomsday." I appreciate all the different breaks and transitions in "Becoming the Bull" that save it from being predictable song structure. "When Two Are One" is an amazing song that is probably my favorite already. (When Brandon is singing in the bridge some line about a "heartbeat," I notice he keeps time on his kick drum with a heartbeat pattern.) The female vocals in it apparently are courtesy of Monique Powell of Save Ferris fame. "Lose It" is another favorite. The album loses some steam in tracks 7-9, on first impressions. The title track is also a great song and I love the steel guitar. Faith No More's "Epic" as the surprise hidden track was hilarious fun.
