All Access Net News, 100000watts, and probably Radio and Records also (I haven't checked yet) are reporting that Entercom changed KQBZ-FM from Talk to Country. KQBZ was behind all five AM News, Talk, or News/Talk stations in the ratings. Infinity Country station KMPS is Number 1 in Seattle-Tacoma, which also has Clear Channel's KNBQ and independent station KGY as Country competitors.

Will some of their talk programming go to sister stations KIRO and KTTH? I've never liked the whole idea of FM talk anyway.

Oh yeah, this is the station that's doing 10,000 songs in a row to kick of their broadcast. A friend of mine was talking about this the other day and the idea greatly amused me. Now granted, I'd never listen to country music, but I'd like to see other stations try this. By the way, given time for segues between songs and DJ breaks, I calculate this thing last just shy of 30 days before they finally get to play their first commerical. (Well, 29 days, 18 hours, 17 minutes and 9 seconds to be exact. )

It's not like KQBZ is the only station to play 10,000 songs in a row after a format change. New York City's WWPR (formerly WTJM) did that when they changed to Urban.

The Kiss station in Albany, NY, played 10K songs in a row when they debuted a few years ago.
