Like penance, I don't bother making lists like this after half a year.

I honestly haven't listened to enough albums released in 2007 (aside from Good Charlotte and maybe Tim Armstrong) to even bother making a list, first of all. I'm too busy listening to each of my 100 all-time favorite albums from the list I made last year. Sure, I play brand new albums at least once through, but I haven't even fully familiarized myself with even one album I've acquired this year, or even any accumulated from the past 3 years that I haven't gotten to yet. (I could probably make an album ranker for the new Good Charlotte album if I sat down and really thought about it.) My year-end list of Top albums heard this year will fall far short of 100 and probably even 50.

I don't bother making least favorite album lists. If an album sucks that bad, then I wouldn't have wanted it to begin with.

I couldn't make an albums list either, since I haven't bought too many albums this year. I used to be one who'd always take a chance on a CD by a new band with 1 single that I like just because the album would only run me $6.99. Now, with the scant amount of new artists showing me anything worth purchasing, coupled with the fact that big box electronic stores don't want you to buy CD's anymore so much so that they won't even bother offering you the deals like they used to, my predisposition against all that has lowered my desire to buy music.

I've bought just one album by a newcomer this year and that's the one from Silversun Pickups. If you want to call Regina Spektor and her #53 hit Alternative as well, make that two. Every other purchase has been from reliable veterans such as QOTSA, NIN, and The Used.

That's your dis-honor roll.

That is really funny about Fall Out Boy. They are currently the Good Charlotte of 2007. I personally don't mind the single, but wow, this group is REALLY hated right now. That's pretty much what happens when you sell out to MTV these days.

There isn't that many haters around here or on absolutepunk.net which is the website that promotes them the most. Critics liked their new album as well. They are far from being the most hated band right now.

Now Metal websites like Blabbermouth and Metal Hammer are a different story. There's lots of haters over there!!
