Thank God he beat you to the punch then to spare us your whining. Yeah, because any negative opinion expressed about something you may like is "whining." And he didn't spare you anything anyway. Sorry. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

Nobody wants to hear someone go on and on about how awful a festival is and how horrible the lineup is when they aren't even going. It's bitching, that's all it is. I'm sure if some indie festival came around to Orlando and I started railing on the bands there, some other people here would be just as riled, so don't give me crap.

Are you kidding me? If my local radio station was announcing the lineup for its annual summer festival, which would normally be something to get excited about, only to find out that the whole lineup is just one huge molten block of lost-in-the-90's, I'd be the first one on here expressing my discontent.

And most people wouldn't give a s**t or sympathize with you, so mostly what you'd just do is piss people off. I don't understand why some people think this is not the case. You can't just say something to a large group of people and not get flak for it from somebody. And I'm not just saying this because I like those bands, it's the same no matter what. If you are coming on here just to tell everybody how much you hate so-and-so and so-and-so, you are whining. I don't know of any possible situation in which this would not be so. And truth be told, not everyone wants to hear it. I'm sorry his summer festival is ruined. I don't really give a s**t how piss-poor he thinks the lineup is because you're right, I would douse him in gasoline and steal his identity to have a lineup like that come to Orlando. But to hear him moan "Oh god the mediocrity goes on" is punishment enough.

I'm sure if some indie festival came around to Orlando and I started railing on the bands there, some other people here would be just as riled, so don't give me crap. Personally, I wasn't even going to bring it up. I didn't bring it up. Crushcrushchris went and found a radio festival lineup in St. Louis, which isn't even his listening area, and brought it up. Since that happens to be my listening area, and a radio station I listen to every day, six of whose festivals I've attended since 1998, yes, I'm going to take the bait and weigh in on it with my opinion, which ever way it falls. Why wouldn't I? Why shouldn't I? I'm sorry his summer festival is ruined. I don't really give a s**t how piss-poor he thinks the lineup is because you're right, I would douse him in gasoline and steal his identity to have a lineup like that come to Orlando. But to hear him moan "Oh god the mediocrity goes on" is punishment enough. P.S. Stop whining.

Bitch. And I'm flipping out because of similar things that have happened on other forums that have just collectively pissed me off, so if it seems like I'm really overreacting to this, I'm just reacting to like ten to fifteen different things that have just caused me to boil over in my exasperation.

They only wouldn't sympathize if they actually disagreed. Look, I'm not trying to rile anybody up over this. To me, the people that'd actually go to the Breaking Benjamin official forums and try to talk shit about their music and performances and whatnot, that's just going out of their way to get peoples' blood boiling. But this is a forum for general discussion of alternative music, and I consider it part of my identity to let it be known who I enjoy, as well as who I don't care for. That's the way it's been since the very beginning here, and that's the way it's always going to be.

Yeah, well, see I rarely ever (or at least I try to rarely ever) make a big deal about the things I don't like because I like to try to be fair. Everywhere I go I always see somebody whining or bitching or moaning about how they don't like this band or don't like that album or hate this tour that's coming up and how oh god the world would be a better place if so-and-so just called it a day and stopped making music so all their favorite bands could hypothetically "make it". I just get so sick of it that I want to squash something. Fortunately I have bugs for that.

They only wouldn't sympathize if they actually disagreed. And by the way, yes, this was my point. In a sea of people, there is going to be someone who will disagree and think you're a pisshead. That was my point.

Well, I didn't mean to turn this thread into an argument. I was merely posting about a festival...yes, it's nowhere near where I live, but a lot of the bands that were announced are either bands I've seen at some point, would like to see in the future and among them are my favorite bands period.

It's not your fault, it's mine. I'm not very happy about things and not all of it has to do with this so I'm mostly just letting out steam. I'm sorry for starting such a ruckus.

Most of the people that I know that talk like that say that stuff about bands I like which makes me even more angry LOL (and that was a really bad sentence structurally)

Souring the Pointfest deal a little more, still, is the addition of 12 Stones. This is just getting funny to me now, how many similar-sounding, boring bands they can get on this thing. ![:d](http://images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif) Ironically, this is apparently one of the quickest-selling Pointfests in awhile. Oh neighbors, what am I going to do with you?

Y'know, what would just ice the cake on this is if I got free tickets to the show and wasted them. ;)

Dear God, I would kill a thousand Nicholases(Nicholasi?) just to go to this concert. Lucky SOB.

Dear God, I would kill a thousand Nicholases(Nicholasi?) just to go to this concert. Lucky SOB. Couldn't tell if you realized, but crash46 was joking. Shinedown and Operator will be in town on the 26th, though, while Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, and Finger Eleven will be here the 31st. So that explains why none of those bands (save Finger Eleven) will be present.

I was actually sitting up thinking last night who else they could add to this festival. 10 Years? Smile Empty Soul? SocialBurn? Revis? Tantric? I mean, the selection's getting pretty thin, without having to dig too deeply into obscurity at least.

Give me some time, I could come up with a list.

Well then maybe those hot-selling tickets could entice some of 'em out of their creative differences.

Just added to the KPNT Pointfest lineup: Crossfade Shinedown Trapt Crossfade and Shinedown...back to back? Christ, I'd need to bring a pillow. Trapt wouldn't be too bad though. They're definiately the most energetic out of them.

I found this comic appropriate. ![](http://www.penny-arcade.com/images/2002/20020712h.gif) On a side note, I am totally visualizing Nicholas and his girlfriend (or rather blank people-shaped images that would be Nicholas and his girlfriend if I had any idea what either of them looked like [cause I mean honestly, for all we know Nicholas could be like a dinosaur or something]) in those little berets and drinking coffee while reading their magazines.
