According to an Absolutepunk article, this is the first single off of HIM's long anticipated Venus Doom. There's a contest attached to it that you can check out here.I'm assuming that the day after the contest ends is the add date for the song which would be July 24th.

If I had more than just eleven days to complete it, I'd be all over this contest. My aspirations would be of Jared Leto-esque epic proportions and 11 days would barely be enough time to brainstorm, let alone record and produce the thing. Still a gnarly idea though; I'll be keeping the sheet music and learning to play it nonetheless, as it appears to be pretty simple.
Probably my most anticipated song and album at the moment.

I am not a fan but I definitely don't dislike HIM. This contest is real effing sweet though.

I've now caught the last 1/4(?) of this on the radio twice this past week. I heard this guitar solo that I didn't recognize and all of a sudden there's Ville singing the chorus and I knew exactly what it was. As soon as I hear the whole thing, I'm sure this will be one of my favorite songs the rest of this summer and all this fall.

You should feel so lucky that your local station KPNT is the ONLY Alternative station playing this right now so far according to Mediabase :)

And some satellite radio station is already playing "Passion's Killing Floor."

I saw the video for this last night on Fuse. While I like the song, I'm not all that impressed, but it's good enough that I could see it reaching the Top 20 and do about as well as "Rip Off The Wings Of A Butterfly."

I don't understand why this is struggling at #86. (As of last Sunday.) With "Wings of a Butterfly" ending up a sleeper hit, and with HIM already having a cult fanbase here in the U.S., you'd think that would've paved an easier path, if not for "Killing Loneliness" than certainly for their next album. The fact that "Kiss of Dawn" is as radio-friendly as usual, and is bombing hard is crushing and preposterous.

It's too downtempo (i.e., more like what I've heard of their earlier stuff... which obviously didn't give them any hits on the order of "ROTWOAB").
