www.radioandrecords.com/radiomonitor/news/format/country/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003189846Denver's 'Willie' Out, 'Wolf' In Oct. 02, 2006 By Ken Tucker After 10 months of showing Denver its Willie, CBS Radio re-targets country KWLI (Willie) as “92.5 the Wolf.” While Willie was positioned with the slogan "wide open country" and featured a mix of currents and country gold, the new stations will lean on “the best new country music artists of today . . . and the brightest new stars of tomorrow,” according to a station press release. KWLI signed on in Dec. 2005, replacing urban oldies KDJM (Jammin' 92.5). Willie’s best showing came in the spring Arbitron survey, where it scored a 2.6 12+ to market leader Lincoln Financial KYGO’s 6.6. Willie will continue to be heard as an HD2 side channel and on the Web at www.925thewolf.com. PD Gill Gamble will handle both stations and morning man Randy “Shotgun" Shannon will serve as APD. While it’s believed that the airstaff remains intact, there was no confirmation at press time.
