This is the third single from the band's debut album Don't You Fake It, hitting radio waves on August 6th. It's also going for adds at pop, so I fully expect this song to blow up somewhere. In fact, I think this is probably their only chance to not be a one-hit wonder at this point. Hey, if "Hey There Delilah" can be a hit, then this could work.

I guess only penance can answer this but, is this the song The Buzz was playing the weekend of the Buzz Bake Sale last year during the "double buzzes" along with "Face Down"? If so I can definitely seeing this hitting the Top 20.

I think this song is way too weak (Alternative Format) for a group with their first album too hit this chart for this song even to be considered. I really think it is almost format suicide for these guys because it sounds entirely too POP. If this even goes Top 20 on CHR\POP, this format will not touch this group again, they will basically become another Panic! or All American Rejects. Even Fall Out Boy is struggling on this format to go Top 10 because they are too poppy.
Now either way, I think this song sounds like a smash hit for Pop and Hot AC, however, with all the mention of going to heaven, etc., this song sounds really religious. I haven't done any research but is this group a Christian Act? Good song, but could also be way too 'religious' for all stations to go after.
Teen Smash of the Fall though if you ask me.

I love this song, but I don't know how it will do at radio.

This song is a total snooze.
The best song on the whole damn record is the seven and a half minute hidden track 12.

Sounds like this group is the next "Tantric" to this format.

That's a really odd reference. Did you just know Tantric's chart history off-hand or did you go trying to look up another band with that kind of run? Either way that scares me a little.

The only thing I can think of is the band Tantric. "Breakdown" was their big single, but I didn't think it had such a long chart run.

I think he meant a band that followed a big hit with a flop, but was able to rebound somewhat with a lighter third single. This is Tantric's chart history:
Breakdown: #3/23 wks Astounded: #29/12 wks Mourning: #23/15 wks
Of course, where has Tantric really been the last five years? I don't know if that was part of No Brakes' comparison, but I think these guys want to set their sights a little higher.

Tantric has an album come out in 2004 titled After We Go which also included three singles. However, none of them reached the Top 50 on Alternative and only made some noise on Active Rock. "Hey Now" peaked #8, "The Chain" peaked at #36, and "After We Go" peaked at #36.

Wasn't "Hero" also a single? That's what I thought.
I had no idea "Astounded" did so badly. I still hear that one a lot!

"Hero" was a single, but I think "The Chain" was released close to around the same time. It's funny, I didn't even know anything went for adds as a single after "Hey Now", but I guess that just goes to show the kind of promotion they were given.
Tantric is currently finishing up the details for their third album which is due out late this year or early next year through Silent Majority. They're running a contest that ends in September to determine the artwork for the album, and the artwork might also spawn the album title, but for now the title is tentatively Tantric 3. Interesting is that while Tantric started as only being Days Of The New with a different singer, now all the DOTN guys have left the band for other projects and Hugo, the singer, is the only original member left.
