That was awesome. I'm really looking forward to new stuff from them.

Just from the clip it's looking like one of the best singles of the year.

Well, looky here. I've recently come from there, myself, only the entire song was up.
First!
From a heavily biased fan, it's absolutely incredible. I dig the 3/4 (6/4?) bars of the intro. If I'm not mistaken, it sounds like Jimmy (The Rev) is actually the one singing the choruses. M's post-chorus rants remind me of Phil Anselmo and what he's done on past Pantera recordings. "War Nerve" especially comes to mind.
And while I'm still soaking the overall song in too much to really try to catch all the lyrics just yet, in M's first rant, it sounds like he's ripping into rich Americans (the current administration perhaps?) who let the poor and working class fight their wars for them. However, in the second rant, it sounds like he's ripping into liberals who criticize America from their armchairs and don't do anything.
Atreyu's new video and a brand new Avenged song? As the Four Seasons might put it: Oh, what a night.
Happy, happy boy.

Apparently, they're going for a tentative date for Almost Easy of September 25th. Lame.

Huh. I knew that song had previously linked on YouTube from an international date they did. I couldn't form a solid opinion on the song from that, though...

Moved up a week to September 18th. Weird, the album gets pushed back and the song gets pushed forward.

Because they want to keep this one officially under wraps for a little longer.

M & Zacky were in the KPNT studios during the noon hour today(!), announcing their St. Louis date, and premiering "Critical Acclaim." (On the radio, at least.) M deadpanned that it was their "street single."

The new self-titled album debuted last week at #4 with about 94,000 copies sold.

I think "Afterlife" has potential to be the next big hit from this band.

Great song, and a slightly different sound from them, methinks.

Yah I was about to say this sounds a little different from their usual sound. Still a great track though. Interesting that you quoted me and not upsilon, because that's what I'm trying to get across. They don't exactly have a "usual" sound. If you mean this sounds different from the overall sound of City of Evil or even just the singles off said album, then yes, it is a little different.

Yeah, exactly. Not one song on this new self-titled album sounds anything like another one. That's why I think it may be one of my favorites of this year. Besides the variety, it's just freaking awesome. There's no other way to describe it.

It was either #2 or #3 on active rock (probably #3, but maybe 2 during the mid-week) and then either 6 or 7 at alternative. Somebody else might be able to get it more specifically than I did, but that should at least give you a general impression of its success.
