This song has more spins on Active Rock than the #1 song on Alternative.
I don't think I've really seen that before. I guess there are more active rock stations around, but I don't ever remember the #1 Active Rock song having more spins than the #1 Alternative song.

I guess there are more active rock stations around, but I don't ever remember the #1 Active Rock song having more spins than the #1 Alternative song. That is quite shocking. I thought there were double the amount of Alternative stations out there than Active Rock, but then again Alternative does have about double amount of the songs that go for adds there. I'm not sure if that makes much sense according to the surprise here, but it's something I noticed.

Now it's 79 Active Rock to 85 Alternative which explains the jump.

Active Rock also digs deeper when it comes to gold records. Which makes the stat even more pathetic. And I'm still smilin' over never having heard this nor having a radio station in my listening area offering this to the general public. .

70 Active Rock stations to 89 Alternative. Not as big of a difference as I thought it was, but that's still a crazy stat. This changed today, and now "Psycho" is up over 2000 plays on Active with the #1 song on alternative under 1700. We're gonna keep seeing this phenomenon now for awhile.

I'm not a big POM supporter, but I think if there's only one halfway decent (power-)ballad on their current album they'll have another top20 CHR hit and platinum album in the bag a year from now. Interesting how these guys managed to not end up like the guy who helped them become famous in the first place.

I actually think they could get a Top 40 radio hit with this one, if you ask me. Even though it might have an apparently disturbing lyric, the video managed to look over it and make it sound goofy. On the other hand, it's annoyingly catchy. In a way, this is "She Hates Me", part 2. So there's no reason why this wouldn't catch at Top 40. PS: The reason why they didn't end up like Fred Durst is probably because enough time has passed for people to either have forgotten or just plain get over their former bond. Because Life On Display's flop performance had very much to do with it. I mean, by that time, the Limp Bizkit backlash was in full swing because of Fred Durst's asshole-ness, and anything related to Fred Durst was bound to be guilty by association.

No way could a song this loud and abrasive make it on the top 40 nowadays. Heck, even "It's Not My Time" had to be "watered down" to make it in the top 40.

No way could a song this loud and abrasive make it on the top 40 nowadays. Heck, even "It's Not My Time" had to be "watered down" to make it in the top 40. I'm sure it would have made top-40 even in its unadulterated version. The new version just gives it a better chance to do very well at top 40. I could see "Psycho" with a pop mix breaking the top 40, but not doing much more than that. If "Never Too Late" can nearly hit top 10 on CHR, if this got an adds date at pop, I'd give it a 50-50 to scratch the surface of the top 40. I hope it does too, because bands lose credibility at alternative and active rock when they have pop hits. I'm not trying to say Puddle of Mudd is a terrible band, but I really don't want to see another band that monopolizes the #1 spot like the Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, and Seether. Alternative fans find this annoying because their favorite indie/punk/emo acts aren't reaching #1, and that these bands should be restricted to active rock. But it's equally frustrating for active rock fans that want more metal-ish stuff reaching #1. If active rock should be made the designated home for post-grunge acts, as a lot of alt fans would like, then alternative needs to start playing some more metal, to offer all alternatives to the modern version of straight up rock & roll. Sorry for my somewhat off-topic rant, but I've been wanting to say that for awhile, I think.
