I've tried and tried to get through to my local radio station via telephone to request a song. I'm starting to get paranoid and thinking they're avoiding me! Question: does the DJ hear/see that a call is ringing and ringing away? Why don't they just have a recording come on asking for people to leave a message with their request? When I e-mailed the morning DJ who is also the Program Director to request this song he responded for me to call in to request it. ??? Why do they have to make it so hard to request a song?

Jocks do have other responsibilities than just sitting or sitting by the phones and the boards all day. An answering machine would be a great idea. In fact, I remember a banner on R&R's website advertised some sort of answering service for callers if the jock can't answer the phone. It's been a while since I've seen the banner.

Over here, sometime they'll say "The lines are open right now, so call us up at (insert phone number) to get your song on the air." Usually, no one will pick up for awhile.
