Looks like John Mayer is in danger of losing his bullet for his lead single from his sophomore album "Bigger Than My Body", or at least may see a slight recovery but something along the lines of Train's "Calling All Angels", which forever stalled below the Top 20.
Can this be a big disappointment for John Mayer fresh off his triple-platinum "Room For Squares"? I admit his video is incredibly boring, but otherwise I'm suprised. Even on Hot AC his bullet has shrunk incredibly, leaving his shot for his first #1 unlikely with matchbox twenty and 3 Doors Down coming up strong. Where do you think "Bigger Than My Body" will peak?
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I have a feeling he'll recover and start gaining more soon. It would be a shame if he can't even go top 20, as this is a song that truly deserves it.

I think it will go to #22, but I think it's his most pop friendly single yet.

I'm also really surprised. Between the facts that 1) it's his best single yet 2) its a lead single from the follow-up to a very successful album and 3) his popularity. I hope it picks up again, although at this point I doubt it can really make the Top 10. Still hoping for a peak around #14 or something, though that also doesn't seem likely. And Pop is becoming more Hot AC friendly again also, so here's a YOUNG Hot AC artist and they pass him over.
Noah, I do agree with you that the video leaves a lot to be desired.

BTMB has been near losing its bullet before this week. I think it was like 2 or 3 weeks ago when it was near #34 and gaining only like +35. It is quite a shame that this song is slowing down... :(
MDs and PDs - take note here. Pop listeners like to listen to John Mayer! It adds a great mix to your playlists and I agree that this song is VERY pop-friendly.
The thing hurting John right now is that there are some fast moving songs heading up the chart (Britney's new one, MB20, and Michelle Branch) and no songs ahead of it ready to go recurrent. So, if John is to make the top 20, there needs to be significant gains immediately or it won't happen.

"Bigger Than My Body" deserves to go much higher than top 20. It's such a good song!

It's my top choice for snoozefest of the year. I say good riddance to it. If Pop wanted to play some Hot AC tracks, at least pick the Sarah McLachlan track or the Live song, not John Mayer's "Bigger".

I was a big fan of "Room For Squares," but I am not impressed at al by BTMB. It's a really boring song and I'm kind of suprised it has gotten as high on the pop chart as it has.

His album has sold really well so far though, which is more important than the success of the single.

I'm buying his CD next time I go shopping (already heard most of it tho). He's definitely in the DMB or Coldplay category, where he get airplay but not nearly enough, and can still sell an album for months. LOL. Those side-by-side buttons are a bitch. I agree here too. I've had this problem a few times already.
